Small victories my friend...small victories (looking forward to leafs losing in the first round). On another note, I know this thread is full of dread but if you and your family are healthy, you've won the lottery. There are folks getting news about masses in their liver, kids with cancer. Lets keep some perspective.

Thank you, I will email them. In the mean time..I have never been religious , always doubted..but I pulled a Bart Simpson prayer(that classic episode where he gets a snow day ), seems like in the darkest times you seek out God. That is all I can do at this point.

I'm in this hell too, interview last week , all going well then handed back passport and refusal asking for the DS5535 form. I have no shady/criminal history or odd travel, just US Canada Mexico. What I do have is the most common male Muslim name and I think that's what did it. I don't work in any TAL occupations. I've been very very depressed/gutted all week. Feels like getting punched in the gut. Like you did something wrong. The consulate was full of terrified and stressed-out people. This was a huge fear of mine and it happened. One thing the CO did say was this is not a refusal and these forms are processed faster now than they were in the past. However, on CEAC I see a big fat refused, ouch.

How long does it take to get the DS5535 form? Is there a contact email if you don't get it?

Cool, I'm assuming you were not asked for one at your medical?
-
I recently had my medical, a few days ago , I just realized they never asked for a urine sample. Only bloodwork?
-
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx Go there, once it says issue you're good. Congrats, a medical thing is no biggie, should be issued in a week or so.

I overthink too but we all need to chill out. In terms of all that tax stuff, you will confuse them. They don't care or accept Canadian sources of income/assets T5s etc..has to be US stuff, uncle Sam-approved/recognized items. Forget Canadian tax data. Simply have your joint sponsor carefully fill out the form, use their tax transcripts, and have your joint sponsors W2, you'll be good as long as it meets the requirement. NVC will let you know if you don't meet the income requirements.
-
Just follow the list in the link they sent with your interview email. There is no requirement to update things in CEAC once you have been Dq'd, unless the NVC folks asked you for something, leave it alone. You do not need to do FOIA or I-94 requests etc. Don't bother with any of that, if they ask about any recent trips you did you just tell them, that is it.

I feel ya with the overthinking...Do NOT look at that D5535 thread, horrific stuff. This process really messes with you, our lives are tied with our spouses/kids and can get messed up should they choose to mess them up. You can do everything right, be law-abiding, and still be put in a hole. I can't sleep properly anymore and when I do the dreams are disturbing. As a Canadian , I like the US better and feel it is the greastest nation on Earth. However , sometimes I feel this process is not worth the stress.
-
It should be approved soon, good sign if they kept your passport. Maybe in a week or so. What was the issue at the border( if you are ok sharing)?
-
You are right, I checked their deadline is April 18. I will just bring the 2022 W2 incase they ask. I am just overthinking everything, I think this process messes with your mind. I can't even imagine the relief when it is over.
-
Hello all, thank you for your help. Just preparing for my early April interivew(April 4). In terms of tax documents, when I uploaded them to NVC in October 2022, they were for 2021, all was good, accepted. Do I now need to bring get a new I864 and new 2022 tax transcripts/W2s? Or do I just bring print outs of what was uploaded before?
-
Got mine too, came in the middle of the night on 16th, April 4, DQ Dec 1. What a relief. In terms of the W2, do I need to take an updated one for 2022, or what I uploaded will suffice?
-
Congrats, did you just apply for your ssn via the D260 or did you have to go to their office??
-
Just checking in, did anyone with a Nov dq date get an interview letter? Last we heard was a Nov 9 individual. On their consulate page they state as of Feb 1 they are working on Nov Dq people.
-
Your sponsoring US spouse, all domicile stuff is about them.
-
Hope so, even a few Nov 9 DQ folks got their IL Monday morning (see previous page). Fingers crossed for Dec 1 DQ folks.
-
I really hope so, I would guess by the end of February. Not a fan of living in Canada, can't wait to leave.
-
Congrats, this is awesome news. Thanks for sharing. I am Dec 1 Dq, lets go.
-
Congrats To confirm, your DQ is OCT 24 and you received an interview notice on Jan 26 for March 8?
-
Good news, but wow Sep 12? It is odd some October folks got it on Dec26 and you just got it now. They seem to be slowing down.
-
I have read on their website it can take up to 180 days. Hopefully it will clear by then.
-
Chart shows someone from OCT 3 got it on Dec26, I would guess you should have a letter this week or next.
-
Correct, they are probably just double checking your Egyptian certificate. Did they give you any other form to fill out or anything?
