  1. Thank you both for this! I submitted the form online but only submitted a picture of the front of the card. I’ll have to log back onto my USCIS account and see if I can add to it or not.
  2. Hi all, I have just received my green card in the post and it is a 2 conditional card not the 10 year card like I expected. I arrived in the USA the day after my second wedding anniversary so I’m confused as to why it’s a CR1. Does anyone know if I’m able to do anything to get this mistake fixed? I purposely waited until after the 2 year anniversary so we wouldn’t have to go through removing the conditions. The date I’ve been a resident since is the day I arrived in the states so I’m not sure what’s going on. There seemed to be issues with the biometrics and I had to go to a USCIS application centre for a new picture but I’m not sure if that would have anything to do with the current issue. Thanks!
  3. Thank you for this both of you. You’ve put my mind at ease! ☺️
  4. Hi all, I just received a notice of action from USCIS to collect biometrics from the local application support center. I’ve been in the USA for about two and a half months and I was under the impression I’d get my green card in the mail. Does anyone know if this is a normal procedure? Or has anyone had this happen to them?
  5. Congratulations!! I did wonder how long it takes to get a SSN, so if you figure out how to get one sooner please let us know! I’m flying out in about a month, and would ideally like to get stuff sorted as quickly as possible.
  6. I had my interview today and I got approved. I’m so relieved as all of my husband’s documents and our marriage certificate got delayed in the post and I still don’t have it. Luckily they accepted the original marriage license and a scan of the certificate. They didn’t ask to see anything of his. I hope everyone else is doing okay!
  7. We just got an email to say my embassy appointment is mid-May. Only got DQ’d 3 weeks ago so very surprised it’s been this quick.
  8. That’s good news! I hope you managed to get the passport back with no issues
  9. Hi everyone. Just wondered if anyone had any issues getting a marriage certificate? We got married in the US and have ordered one recently and been given an estimated arrival date of the middle of next month. Really frustrating as it’s the last thing we’re waiting on before submitting our documents to await the interview. Very annoyed we didn’t order it sooner, but for some reason in my head I thought it was something we would have got in the post after getting married, and my husband just had it somewhere around the house.
  10. Thank you! I just had the email about payment today and have paid so I’m hoping it won’t take too long (wishful thinking I know) so we can submit everything to NVC. I hope everyone is doing well and the process is all going smoothly 😊
  11. Just out of curiosity, those of you in the UK how long did your police certificate take to come through? I’ve applied for mine this week and am hoping it doesn’t take ages haha. We have decided to change our timeline and not wait until August like our original plan as I want to move as soon as possible.
  12. I did hear about the extension letters but with the amount of notice I’d have to give at work it likely wouldn’t make a massive difference in the timeline of me relocating. As much as I’d love to move straight away, when I we looked into it properly it made more sense to do it this way.
  13. Thanks, I wasn’t sure about the police report which is why I haven’t sorted that out yet.
  14. No I mean once the CR1 expires and you have to apply to adjust. I’m trying to think long term, and don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t get back to my family if needed. Yes, I did read it was the date from the medical, so we are taking that into consideration.
  15. A year after the USCIS approval. We’re trying to time it right because of the 6 month expiry and because I wanted to get the IR1 instead of the CR1 (don’t like the idea of having to do all that paperwork and not be able to leave if there is an emergency). My job has a really long notice period so I’d need to move in August anyway.
