Ooh! How did it go? I hadn't realized you were so close to mine.
-
Visa officially in hand, I picked it up from my pick up location today. Interview was 18th, shipped the 19th, pick up the 21st. Pick up seems totally viable for those of you who are interested!
-
Manitoba. It was picked up yesterday from the consulate and it updated this morning that it should be there today, so I might be able to go get it tomorrow? That's not bad considering they said 2-3 weeks!
-
Well my passport moved to Issued today, while I was on my flight home from Montreal and it says it should be delivered to the post office I selected on Sept 21, so I guess I can go pick it up friday!
-
For me it was the main downtown post office, but Winnipeg isn't as large as Toronto so they could have multiple I suppose, but you'll at least have your city's Canada Post HQ to pick up from I think.
-
I did this because my neighborhood has a porch pirate issue and I wanted to take zero chances. My pickup point is just the downtown post office in my city. My interview was today so I will let you know how it goes with pickup.

I was just going to post about it so here it goes! A few weeks ago I got an email with a different appointment time, so this morning I went at the first appointment time and asked which one I should attend since I didn't want to miss it! The guard at the door said come back at 1045 which was the time in the most recent interview update. I grabbed breakfast and went back to the hotel to chill. At 1045 I was back at the consulate and checked in. The guy at the door checks you off a list, you go through the door and a person immediately to the right checks your passport, gives you a ticket with your appointment number on it and then you go through security and put your phone in a tiny locker and then go up the elevator. Once there I was immediately called into a room and asked for: My birth certificate Marriage certificate My husband's 2022 taxes My RCMP check Passport Photo Passport (I had a folder of 20 other things so I was surprised that's all he wanted) They asked about my address, my husband's address, phone number, where I would be living. And then had me sit back down and wait for the interview. About 20 mins later I was called to a different portal with a different person who asked: My husband's full name How we met What our wedding was like What my husband does for work After that, she told me her system was down but she intends to set me for approval and I should have my stuff back in 2-3 weeks. I was there for less than an hour, I was surprised at how quick it was! Anyways, here's hoping for a quick processing... my husband and I are so excited at the thought of putting this process behind us!

No problem! I like being over-prepared, so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. My over-preparedness may as well help others out too!

I went to MTL for my medical and stayed at a hotel close by called Hotel Birks because it was a 3 minute walk to the Drs, but also because I was traveling to a city I'd never been before and wanted to make sure I was somewhere safe. If you decide to stay in this hotel or any other hotels in the area, check travelocity first! I got a really, really good deal on airfare from Winnipeg to MTL plus 2 nights in this hotel for next to nothing. When I go to the Embassy I will be staying at St-Martin Hotel Particulier, same sort of situation with checking Travelocity, nice hotel and got a good price. Side note also, if you're flying in.. I had a friend tell me that Ubers can cost onwards of $60, Cabs are $40 but there's a bus from the airport that goes straight downtown 24/7. I bought a 3 day Unlimited pass and it was I think $22. The bus goes from downtown to the airport and takes about the same amount of time that a cab/Uber would anyways!

After its been submitted I dont think you can edit it, I would just ask them to amend it at the interview. I remember seeing something online where you may be able to ask NVC to open it online, maybe someone can speak to that but I would just advise them at your interview that your employment details have changed.
-
That's so weird that you got one too and so close to your appointment! Ah! Keep us updated on what happens! My appointment is a few weeks after you. I think your lawyer and @llcoolwil is right in going to the early appointment anyways but curious as to what they have to say about it.
-
Thats good to know that they have someone checking them, so that I dont have to sit there for 3 hours waiting for someone to call my name if I dont have to.. though I feel like I've waited through the process long enoug that 3 hours should be nothing by now. Thanks for the input!!

Yep that was my thought as well, is just proceed like its 745 and they will tell me if I'm wrong. My hotel is only about 5minute walk away anyways, I'm just super confused and already stressed out haha. Here's the email I got this morning

Hey all! I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything. I have on my IL letter that my interview is Sept 18th at 7:45, however I just got an email this morning from us-visa-info email address showing my courrier information that I set up, and that my consular interview date is September 18th but at 10:45 instead. I'm kind of confused if this is wrong or just updated. I dont want to show up at 10:45 if my appointment was supposed to be 7:45. Has anyone encountered this?

Got my IL this morning! DQ - April 21 IL - July 12 Interview - September 18

I'm trying to get ahead of my interview and get all of my documentation sorted, can someone point me to a list of all the stuff I need to bring? My husband is driving up to Canada for the summer so I would like to make sure he doesn't leave anything behind that I would need.

So happy to see some April DQs getting their letters! I'm April 20th so I'm hoping that means I'm next month.

August 2022 - I130 filers
HaeZee replied to King•Adan's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Just what was in the K-3 guide. It's really simple compared to filing the i-130 only difference being that it needs to be mailed and not filed online. Here's the VJ guide we used. -

Sooo yesterday my K3 was terminated, and today my case tracker said my i-130 was approved and that NOA2 would be sent. Anyone else? I dont know what to do with myself right now, I wasn't expecting this any time soon!
