  1. Hey what happened with your case? Did you get a favorable recommendation? I am currently in the same stage.
  2. Your attorney is very optimistic. I-612 is taking 15,5 months now. When I applied in 2022 It took exactly 12 months to hear back from them. Good luck!
  3. Did you finally reach the sponsor views requested stage?
  4. Hi! I am now at the sponsor views requested stage. Also a Fulbrighter. Could you please share your complete timeline? Especially how long the sponsor views stage took? Thank you and congratulations on your approval!
  5. How do you know this? Is there any reference to this in either USCIS or DOS manuals? If so, could you share a link?
  6. See kids, Lawsuits and Writ of Madamus do work and they do have an effect.
  7. So much for “ we process cases on a first come, first serve basis” 😑
  8. I did one time last year and the DOS sent a boilerplate response that was completely unhelpful. Mind you they only responded to the congressman after multiple emails I have sent them myself went unanswered. They never once replied to my emails. Absurd
  9. Thank you! It's stressful because right now it can go either way, Fulbright is difficult. If I were you, I would definitely be reaching out to the DOS or your Congressman and demanding a decision. This is definitely not fair. You can also consider filing a write of mandamus. if you have the money. I think these lawsuits are playing a role because DOS is suddenly working faster.
  10. I also want to share the same update! my hardship case reached DOS on May 24th, 2023 and I just saw now that they requested Sponsor views yesterday! at long last some movement!! My sponsor is also the DOS . No idea how long the sponsor views step takes, can be few weeks to a few months now. Fingers crossed for a favorable outcome .
  11. Has anyone with gov funding tried to reach out to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to ask for a favorable recommendation?
  12. Mine does have gov sponsorship so I am aware it will take longer. However, there is no reason for them not to request sponsor views now since they are working on cases received the same month as mine. It’s not like our hardship is somehow less
  13. Oh If I were you I would definitely reach out and try to force a decision. The way they process these cases in the order they receive them but this is clearly not the case. This is incredibly unfair on top of the ridiculous long wait we have to endure. Just a question, does yours have gov sponsorship ?
  14. They received my case in May 2023 and I still have no response. This is ridiculous
  15. Do we have any idea if this person somehow managed to expedite their case with DOS or if they are actually working faster now?
  16. I have the impression that cases with a NFR take even longer to get a decision . Sad
  17. wait is this another new update? The latest update from a few weeks ago had a footnote about how hardship cases are taking longer because of the volume. If we are to believe this latest update it gives us hope!
  18. At this point this thread should be renamed "J Hardship 2021- forever state of agony timeline".
  19. This is crazy. they claim that they process them on a first come first serve basis but this is clearly not the case!! So unfair to those unlucky ones who have to wait years for a decision. This is the definition of “capricious and arbitrary “ that US immigration law sets. Grounds for a lawsuit if you ask me.
  20. Has the DOS published their Visa waiver statistics for 2022 or 2023? The last available data is from 2021.
  21. I have noticed that all cases decided relatively quickly are ones without government funding. Interesting.
  22. Please keep us updated about the mandamus Yes I think this qualifies as hardship. But you should definitely speak with an attorney
