  1. To loop back to this, they did not ask my husband for his old passport nor even brought it up when he gave them only his new passport. I had uploaded a scan of the new passport into the NVC with the comment about the Canadian Authorities not returning the old passport due to damage.
  2. My husband had his appointment on Friday and all went well! He was at 8am, got in line around 7:45 and was not let in until 8:10. He said the first window where you show the documents the officer was stern but professional. Asked for passport, original marriage certificate, his original birth certificate and photos. He asked him if he had my W-2 but did not take it to look at it. Sat back down and then called up to the window for his interview. He said the interview officer was nice and really asked questions just to verify information like my job and address. The only 'personal' question that was asked was how we met and 'who made the first move'. She also asked about the 1 denial of entry he previously had. As we listed it on the DS-260, it did not seem to be an issue. Total time about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Approved on the spot and my husband will be moving in two weeks!
  3. It went through the wash so the passport office said it may be considered 'damaged' and therefore may not be returned to him - we are still waiting to see. We def have a copy of the passport bio page though to show.
  4. My husband got a new passport in the time between registering the appointment and the appointment which is scheduled in February. Is it recommended to upload the new passport into the NVC?
  5. Interview letter received! DQed Oct 13th appt Feb 16
  6. I agree! I think I saw all the way to September 18th so I am hoping mid-September through mid-October are captured in the next set!
  7. Patiently waiting.... DQed early October so hoping we are in this batch.
  8. Nobody has heard anything yet for this month right? It looked like the appointments last month got dropped around the 21st
  9. I did reach out to the NVC and they just confirmed that we are DQed back in October and its waiting in line at the Consulate. I think they just send updates like this sometimes
  10. Something weird came today which got me all excited because I thought it was Montreal scheduling the appointment only to be let down - we were DQed on October 12th, yet today received an email from the NVC entitled 'Introduction to Document Collection' which retells the instructions for completing the NVC application. Is this normal to receive? I have completed the NVC contact form to see if they have sent it by mistake. Any thoughts appreciated!
  11. Hi All! looking for estimate of the wait times in London lately - how long from DQ are you all seeing the interview letters, and then how far out is the appointment after the letter is received? Thank you!
  12. Confirming we get DQed on October 12th - certainly have a long way to go till interview letters. Hoping maybe my husband will be in the US by Valentine's day!
  13. Hi everyone! Just joining this mega-thread. We just submitted to NVC so hoping to get DQed soon. It makes me happy seeing everyone have a good experience at the Montreal Consulate!
  14. Hi All, Can anyone give a current estimate of the wait time between DQ to received your interview letter for IR-1/CR-1 Spouse Visa in Montreal? It looks like earlier in the year it was closer to 3-4 months but wondering if anyone has any estimates?
  15. Just found out today our case got transferred to Vermont which has the worst processing times - cannot even submit an inquiry request until April 2024. Trying to remain positive - I myself am an immigration attorney so thought I would have good karma through this process. Trying very hard to not get discouraged working on cases filed after mine that get approved, because I am just happy for anyone making it through this process!
  16. I am starting to get really disheartened This is my 'your progress' tab: Why has USCIS not even begun to review the case which was filed almost a year ago now.
  17. Looks like some July 2022 filers are getting approved already in their thread!
  18. I really wish there was a premium processing option for marriage-based cases. I am an immigration attorney but I do mostly business cases, and its a much faster process to green card in some cases.
  19. Anyone else notice their month calculation is now gone from their account? Ours now just says 'Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time.'
  20. Hi All! Joining this thread as well - we filed on August 12th, still pending at this point. I agree with the other comments - in April 2023 we got down to 2 more months in the processing tab, but when USCIS updated its general case processings to an additional 4 months, our processing tab updated to 6 months. Down to 5 months now but was hoping it was just a glitch and would be hearing something soon.
