  1. How are you able to do the DS-160, pay MRV Fee, Schedule the appointment, and schedule the medical exam before getting instructions (packet 3) from the embassy? I did not realize that was an option.
  2. The issue I have is that I have to change consulates as the Beneficiary moved since filing of the I-129F. What you are suggesting is to keep sending them inquiries roughly 4 weeks after getting our NOA2, hoping that they get it before they send it off to the wrong consulate, correct? So, just send one every day until I land on the day they finally have a case number? Otherwise, I'll never know when it has been sent to a consulate in a country the Beneficiary no longer lives in and they'll forward instructions to an address the Beneficiary no longer lives at! Seems dicey.
  3. I saw in another thread that k1 visas don't receive a welcome letter. How are we notified of our NVC case number without the welcome letter?
  4. So how do we know what to do next if we don't even know that it is at NVC?
  5. I am not saying it IS 6 months from now. It could be much sooner. The VJ Flow Chart suggests to start gathering documents upon getting the NOA2. One of those docs is the I-134. That document requires evidence. Again, we don't know when the interview will be scheduled, but if VJ suggests that we start gathering documents now, I would like to do so. In this scenario, how long are the documents good for? Is there a time limit or not?
  6. Howdy! I understand that beneficiaries here on a K-1 Visa cannot leave the country unless they get advance parole to do so. Let me ask, can we visit other U.S. territories like the U.S. Virgin Islands? I understand that Americans don't need a passport to travel there. Would there be any hangups for the K-1 beneficiary trying to get back into the mainland U.S.? Has anyone done this personally? If so, what happened? Thanks!
  7. Greetings all, Just got our NOA2. I am in the process of prepping the I-134, but have some questions about the evidence for it. 1. I meet the income requirement. That said, do I have to list assets like bank accounts, stocks, etc? Since I meet the income requirement, I can choose to leave those blank, correct? Is it best to include all assets or can I just ignore that part? 2. I have the official IRS Tax Transcripts for 2020, 2021, and 2022. Do I need to also supply W-2 forms from each year? 3. I have a letter of employment from my employer. How long is it valid for? If it was written in March, 2023 but our interview is in October, 2023 (hopefully not THAT late), is the letter still good? Does it expire at some point? 4. I have a letter from my bank stating my account details and the total amount of deposits from 2022 to present. How long is this letter valid for? If it was written in March, 2023 but our interview is in October, 2023 (hopefully not THAT late), is the letter still good? Does it expire at some point? 5. I don't think I submit the I-134 anywhere. I am pretty sure it goes to the beneficiary for the interview. That said, do I sign the form and DHL it to her with an ink signature, or can I sign it, scan it, and email it to her? 6. Do I need to include a color scanned copy of my passport with the I-134? Do I have to upload it somewhere, or simple paperclip it to the document? 7. Do the amounts in my accounts indicated in letters from my banking institutions have to match the amounts listed in Part 3. #17 (Assets)? For example, if my bank letter says I have 10k in my checking account, do I have to list my checking account in the assets section for the amount of 10k? Thanks!
  8. We are presently waiting for our NOA2 with the USCIS and I am curious to know what are the possible USCIS Statuses we can receive. For example, right now our current status is "Case was Received". That leads me to ask, whether it be an approval, RFE, RFE response, etc., what are the USCIS Case Statuses that are possible? Is there an exhaustive list out there. What have people here gotten?
  9. Greetings. So, they want the original birth certificate for the beneficiary and the petitioner? Is that what you did? I'm not sure I'd want to send my original birth certificate. Please elaborate on what you did. Thanks!
  10. That is straight from the uscis.gov website. There are either two sections, or they are all one section with a numbering error. See the link. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-134instr.pdf
  11. Greetings, Some of the instructions on Form I-134 Declaration of Support don't' seem to make sense in the section regarding supporting evidence. It has #1 requesting bank statements, #2 for a statement from your employer, then starts again with a separate #1 for copy of tax returns and a separate #2 for a list of bonds. My question is, why are there two #1 and #2 sections? Is the first #1 and #2 for employed persons and the second #1 and #2 for self-employed persons? The document doesn't clearly state the difference in the description (see screenshot attached). I myself am employed by an employer, so do I only attach the bank letter and employment letter, or do I also need to include my last tax return and any bond information? Is it a pick from the first 2 or the second 2 options? Anyone know for sure? Thanks.
  12. What is the process for changing the consulate at the NVC stage? You mention an inquiry form. What form is that and where can I find it? Trying to ensure that our consulate is changed from South Africa to Ghana since my fiancee moved while waiting for our NOA2. I sent a letter to the USCIS explaining the move, but haven't received any confirmation from them (and likely won't until they review it, right?).
