  1. Unfortunately my spouse was an lpr so I would have to wait 4 years and 9 months before I can apply for citizenship. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think 3 years rule applies to those who were/are married to usc.
  2. Thanks for the info. I wasn’t thinking about getting married right away. Maybe after a couple of years. It takes time to find someone and get to know the person. Not going to make the same mistake and rush like I did the first time. But again, I’m getting old and 5 years wait seems a bit extreme.
  3. Thank you sir. Unfortunately “pushbrk cannot receive messages.”
  4. Dear All, I had a conversation with my attorney regarding getting married again and he told me that I should not get married and sponsor my wife since I got my GC through my wife who was an LPR. I was told that I should wait 5 years until I become USC. He didn’t remember if it applies to those who got GC though vawa. So I came here seeking advice. My marriage case wasn’t strong enough due to obvious reasons but my vawa case was strong enough that my AOS was approved. Due to what I experienced, I chose not to get married here in the US and marry someone in my home country. My question is… is it true that I should wait 5 years before I petition for my wife? I know it’s a long process and I’m not getting married anytime soon but I’d like to know what my options are. Please let me know if you have any information regarding this. Thank you.
  5. Thank you so much @sandranj!!
  6. Thank you so much. Can’t believe I’ll get to see my parents after 11 years. 🥹
  7. Was accused of fraud/misrepresentation which was the reason for multiple interviews, prior denial, and delay for years. I have always been truthful about it.
  8. Thank you all! I am panicking again, looking for some advice. Got GC approved, wanted to book international flight for a couple of weeks and go see my parents. I unknowingly violated my prior immigration status years ago, I mentioned it in my 485 application, it was cleared recently, and I got GC approved. My question is: Is it safe for me to travel now? Can I be still denied entry? What are my options if they don’t let me enter. If anyone knows about it, please let me know or guide me to a document or something, I would really appreciate it.
  9. After more than 7 years, my 485 status changed to new card being produced. Went through 2 interviews with 3 interview cancellations, 3 RFEs, denial, MTR, 7-8 EADs. My case history is way too long but here’s a summary of recent events: Case moved to nbc earlier this year, they issued RFE in August 2022 for BC. Then case moved to field office, medical RFE was issued in mid October. I didn’t receive the rfe notice, luckily my attorney received a copy in November. Responded in November, then waited 2.5 months for a decision. After being traumatized in life for so long, it feels unreal, and I still keep thinking about what’s going to go wrong again. Fear has become my second nature. Missed out on the most important 5 years of my life. I can have some peace now and go see my parents, although I still feel stressed about international travel. I thank you all and this community for being there for each other, I’ve spent years reading your posts and comments.
  10. Very likely a medical RFE since they also sent you deficiency notice earlier.
  11. There’s a possibility that it’s a system glitch. I saw a few other people elsewhere encountering the same issue. Not sure what happened to them though.
