  1. Hi All, I am sure this has been asked before with the delays from USCIS these days but I could not find a concrete answer. My wife and I had our I130 approved Thursday, February 16th. We are now at the NVC stage. Our 2 year wedding anniversary is January 14th, 2024 and with all I have read about trying to remove conditions and what a head ache that is both financially and mentally. Is it possible for us to delay the NVC stage/ Interview or request an interview later so that I may enter after our 2 year wedding anniversary? Thanks, Mark
  2. Reached out to an accountant this afternoon so hopefully get a response on that. Thanks to the both of you for the quick responses and explanations!
  3. @Mike E Thanks to the both of you! @Mike E I read through that thread, what a wild ride, the Hacking clip was the cherry on top. 1000 Islands will most likely be my POE so may go the long way to Buffalo instead. I understand now that my case is not unusual and that many Canadians return to tie up items. Is there any information that’s been shared related to taxation and how this would work for those 2-3 months after I obtained my CR1 and worked from Canada?
  4. Hi All, I have a quick question surrounding employment after your CR1 is completed. I am currently a Canadian citizen employed by a Canadian company. Once my visa is approved, am I able to enter the US and activate it and then return to Canada if I am not ready to move? My hope is that once I am approved, enter the US and then return to Canada for 2-3 months to continue working and close the loop on some items. Wondering if anyone has done the same and/or has any advice? Thanks!
  5. That’s what my comment was… they contact us by email with case number and instructions to create our account. So welcome letter came electronically first.
  6. Hi All, We were approved on Thursday, February 16th. Today we received our notice from the NVC that our case has been created, received case number etc. Just sharing for reference, will continue to post as we move on.
  7. Attached an example of what you need an explanation! You can book an appointment with your local police if they do finger printing for RCMP or you can use an approved 3rd party company. You can find a list of those on the RCMP website. RCMP Example.pdf RCMP Certified Criminal Record Check Instructions.pdf
  8. Jan 2023. I’m curious to see how long it takes. We already have our documents ready to submit for NVC once our case is created. The only piece I am waiting on is the RCMP police check which I sent off for today, was told 5-10 BD’s on that one.
  9. Of course, we were approved yesterday so we are quite similar time lines. Does anybody know what we are looking at with the NVC from case creation to interview letter? On VJ it says NVC is processing cases from June 2022 but the NVC website says they processing cases from January. Any insight would be great with data points or metrics you are using!
  10. Congrats! Curious on updates with your case as we are both Canada based will be going through Montreal. I will keep providing updates here as we work through NVC/Consulate stuff.
