  1. Glad this is finally over but wow the DQ date and IL date makes no sense haha… DQ - March 16th IL - June 14th Interview - August 23rd Anyone want to trade lol?
  2. I think so, maybe this week for an August interview but we shall see. Yes, we are March 16th DQ. Ready for it to be over and done with!
  3. Sharing for visibility: As of June 5th, 2023, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in March 2023; https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/consular-operations-updates/ I think we pretty well knew this with people as far as March 8th getting an IL.
  4. Unrelated but how does one miss their interview after waiting months for this process to finish…
  5. I feel like this thread went incredibly quiet, has anybody finished the process entirely? We are waiting on our IL/Interview, hopeful to receive the IL by the middle of this month with interview in August. Then comes the job search… it never ends!
  6. Congrats to everyone in this batch! We did not receive an IL (DQ March 17th) so fingers crossed we will be in the next batch which is what I figured. I think that’ll make us probably an August interview if everything works out. I’m glad we have some positives here though and you all are finally closer to being reconnected
  7. Agreed, I understand it’s an incredibly frustrating process but comparing non CR1/IR1 timelines to others is apples to oranges. It’s an entirely different game with different rules and it can cause some confusion for IR/CR1 folks. On that same note… any ILs received this week haha?
  8. That is crazy… is there any uniqueness to your case or pretty straight forward? Really crushed my optimism with a March 16 DQ date.
  9. I was wondering the same, I didn’t see any individuals who had posted that they received letters last week. We were DQ’d March 16th as I mentioned before and I’m hoping we’re part of this batch but who knows. I think from this batch you’ll have a rough idea when to expect your IL/Interview. I imagine letters will go out this week.
  10. @bal13 When is your interview date? I’m behind you all, DQ’d March 16th and obviously no IL yet. Keep us updated!
  11. Is anybody finished yet visa in hand? I moved along quite quickly and have been DQ’d since March 16th, 2023. Unfortunately Montreal takes a few months to schedule interviews hopeful for July/August. Just curious if anyone from other countries with less traffic is done.
  12. You should be fine, I cross 1-2 times a month to visit my wife and each time and have just outlined that I have an IR1 pending to the officer. They then ask you what you do for work, where you live, etc to prove your ties to Canada and that you will in fact being going back. If you’re flying, showing a return ticket can help as well! **I’ve been travelling 1-2 a month since I filed last February and have had no issues**
  13. Fortunate to have some medical professionals in the family so made figuring out what I needed a little easier! Blown away by how busy the public clinics were, glad I was proactive.
  14. Currently waiting for IL with a DQ of March 16th, hopeful to have our interview completed some time in July or August. In the anticipation of the upcoming medical exam, I have started to get my immunization records in order. In doing so I was able to gather that in Ontario this month suspension letters were sent out, these are for students who do not have up to date vaccines to attend school. With this, the public immunization clinics are flooded and I could not get an appointment to even see someone before July. Luckily I was able to find a third party provider that you can pay to get vaccines completed. Just sharing here for those in the same boat to be weary of this as appointments are hard to come by! Yours in waiting,
  15. Thoughts on US Consulate in Montreal reducing hours as of March 1st? Sign that they are back to a normal workload or that their staff is burnt out…
  16. Hi All, I was just DQ’d about an hour ago, I’ve been following along for a few weeks and trying to establish an estimate on when we should expect our interview in Montreal, not just the IL. In reviewing the master Google document it looks like the time period was not too bad last year, heightened in the back half of the year. Could anyone provide a ball park of days between DQ to interview within the last 6 months in Montreal? Thanks in advance!
  17. Hi All! Exciting news as of two minutes ago we were DQ’d. 14 business days exactly, onto the IL.
  18. Thanks for starting! We submitted March 2nd, it looks like those who submitted in February were DQ’d fairly quick. Most by 17-18 days, even saw a 14 day! Best of luck!
  19. It was fairly quick, we’re using an attorney so that helped quite a bit. We had almost all of the documentation needed as we gathered it all BEFORE we received I130 approval to save time. The police report delayed us, as well as gathering some tax documents form a joint sponsor. I posted before but the DS260 is a pain as you are constantly kicked out of the application, be sure to save a lot. It took us about 2 weeks from approval to submission.
  20. Hi All, Sharing an update, we have completed our application and it is now with the NVC for DQ. Will continue to update, NVC looking like 17 days on average via last month’s group.
  21. Wishing you all the best on your case and a speedy banking transaction! Hopefully can DQ soon!
  22. The payment portal takes 3-5 days from payment made (triggers In Process) to “Completed”. This is similar to basic banking activity where deposits usually take about 3 business days to clear. The NVC has no control over the banking activity. If you are going to expedite anything, it would be made once your entire application is completed and with their team for review. Even then, I would be mindful of what you deem as an expedited request as they’ll most likely ask you for a valid reason other than just it’s taking longer than you want it to. If everyone is just submitting requests to expedite with no reason, it just creates unnecessary work for NVC. Most cases submitted to NVC in February were cleared about 17 days, they are moving pretty quickly.
  23. What exactly were you trying to expedite? Your fees have not even been posted yet was my understanding?
  24. Fees processed and submitting documents/completing DS260. I cannot stress to you enough to save your work every 5 minutes on the NVC site while completing the DS260. The site crashes every 10 minutes and will remove your work. I am going on 2 hours to complete the form with about a half dozen crashes….
