    This is how estimated processing times are kept lower on USCIS website 🫠 If they truly processed everybody in order, they'd have to increase processing times by 3-6 months easily.

    I highly recommend renewing his British passport. I believe it can be done online, very easily. He wouldn't be able to visit UK on US passport. Also, as the time passes, renewing expired passport may pose different challenges.

    Why does it matter whether it was on time or late? N-400 doesn't ask whether you ever filed taxes late, as far as I know.

    Under no circumstances one should lie to USCIS. If OP disclosed it in the medical for AOS, it's pretty clear USCIS knows about it.

    Because passport is not the only document people use for travel. People travel on refugee travel documents and other documents. Even with passport there are hundreds of countries with slightly different looking passports and places where to find passport number.
