  1. Just USCIS IT system unavailable. Try later.
  2. Good immigration advice should not entail poor financial or life advice in my opinion. Regularly used card will provide better evidence for I-130 than the one with no transactions waiting for emergency.
  3. Don't forget 24% APR on CC. Put $500 aside and use for emergency instead. Missing a payment is so easy when you're in emergency and do not have funds. Using CC for emergency can cause a snowball effect, worsening financial situation and damaging credit score. Personal loan is much lower APR if you want to borrow money for emergency (although as I say, it's best to have actual money for emergency). Thus my recommendation of using CC for small regular payments that already occur and don't require shopping. Helps credit score, and helps as evidence of bonafide marriage.
  4. Big no. Emergency funds are for emergencies. Credit cards are not for emergencies. Put small recurring charge on that card instead, such as phone bill.
  5. Yes, there's no other easy option for your wife to remain LPR and stay in the US. It will take however long it requires.
  6. @amour-et-foi you know you can always sue USCIS if you're tired of waiting and don't want to file N-400? It would cost you more than N-400, but you should get it moving.
  7. I also found this thread, looks like it had a happy end: So maybe it's not that bad.
  8. Doesn't look too promising, in my opinion. Are you married to somebody who was born in Azerbaijan? If not, the country of chargeability should have been Uzbekistan. What status are you currently on? Make sure you can maintain it throughout the process, otherwise if AOS is denied... Good luck!
  9. Was I-751 approved already? If so, its online status is irrelevant. I think this status just shows some technical issue on USCIS IT system.
  10. I don't believe she's accruing any unlawful presense. She's LPR until put in removal and judge rules out to take the status away. But I still suggest consulting with lawyer at this point and probably filing a fresh I-751.
  11. Today's update for WAC filers in 21xxx range as of 12:45 pm PST: 1 x new approval in upper range
  12. Today's update for WAC filers in 22xxx range as of 12:30 pm PST: 2 x new approvals in lower range 3 x new RFEs in lower range 5 x new approvals in upper range 3 x new RFEs in upper range
  13. Today's update for WAC filers in 23xxx range as of 11:40 am PT: 1 x new approval in lower range
  14. Another data point regarding this subject: "I am a dual citizen, and I regularly check in using the passport other than the one I provided at booking. This has never caused a problem; no check-in agent has ever even mentioned it. So just check in with the passport you plan to use on arrival. It doesn't matter whether you gave that passport information when you booked. If the airline asks about your other passport, just explain why you changed passports. There is nothing wrong with changing your citizenship." From: https://travel.stackexchange.com/questions/89186/can-i-change-my-citizenship-passport-country-after-booking-a-flight My 2 cents: don't provide passport info if you can at time of reservation. Or if you have to, you can usually change it later at the airport.
  15. Checked Delta, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. They also don't require passport details when booking. Turkish has a check mark for Turkish citizen though.
  16. @annab864 thank you for checking. It sucks Expedia asks for country of citizenship when booking flights. I moved away from third party websites for booking flights, after the pandemic, so obviously didn't know some require this info. While they allow saving a bit of $ it's real pain if flight is delayed, cancelled or you have to change it. Good to know! Maybe community can create a list of websites asking or not asking for passport details.
  17. This is a once in a lifetime event. Hopefully your employer should understand its importance. Rescheduling is always a bit of a risk. Unless it's a health emergency, I wouldn't miss it.
  18. @SanjaAlex my personal opinion it's best not to bring the kid to USCIS field office. It's stress for the child. In addition, not every IO may like children, you don't want that bias affect the course of your interview.
  19. I hope you're rescheduling the work travel?
  20. Thank you very much. How can one notify of similar thing in the future since messaging didn't work?
  21. 4 x new (today's) approvals in upper range as of 02/02/2023. Agreed, looks a bit slower than 22xxx range yesterday. I feel like USCIS takes a range, processes the most straightforward cases (approves, issues RFEs or schedules interviews), then processes regular cases and leaves hardest till the end. Only my opinion though. Your case (and mine) probably falls into regular category, so will take a bit of time. Hopefully soon... I'm extecting mine to be approved before April. Maybe I'm too optimistic.
  22. I hope I wasn't the only one experiencing the glitch today lasting several hours. Couldn't create new thread, reply to existing or message privately. 1. What is the best way of notifying the admins? I used Contact Us form. 2. Is anybody investigating the root cause for the outage and coming up with the fix so it doesn't occur again? Thank you
  23. Example of booking flight from NY to Paris on United: I'm always curious when people say "I booked flights on US passport" or similar. I see no passport information on booking. Only when you check in online. Which doesn't work well when you're a dual citizen. You check in at the airport with the passport giving you access to destination and that's it. Maybe I'm missing something.
