  1. Long term solution (also the safest) is to update your country's passport with married name. Short term solution: bring marriage certificate with you.
  2. If you send all forms in one packet (per person), there is no need to explain it. The way my stuff was organized by lawyer is: Payment Table of contents All forms All evidence organized
  3. Never objected that. My suggestion was to use a US bank for finances in the US. I myself have bank accounts in different countries. Just was never asked for SSN / ITIN anywhere outside of US yet. Hence the question why a Canadian bank needed it.
  4. @Danmuji it's best to order the certificate of naturalization now, since you may need the original some time in the future anyway. IO may never ask to see it. Or they can issue RFE and you'll have to get it... Either way, just get it. There is no way of knowing upfront whether you'll be asked to show it. At least you could tell IO you lost it and ordered replacement.
  5. Sorry, it's a bit hard to understand what you've written there. From what I see (correct me if I'm wrong): * You are a US citizen filing for a spouse to come live in the US * You have suspicion or proof he's unfaithful to you and you are questioning the geniuinety of his marriage to you * You don't want him to come First of all, sorry about this situation! You can withdraw your I-130 case, divorce him and move on. Depending where your case is, you may need to write to USCIS, NVC or US embassy.
  6. Good idea. Sometimes the security won't let the spouse in, but then IO may ask her to get inside for few questions, and security will let the spouse in.
  7. @adipo21 the safest thing to do is to get a new passport with the married name matching name on Green Card and then travel. You can do it in consulate or embassy of your country in the US.
  8. Green Card holder and US citizen are two different things. It looks like you may be eligible to apply for US citizenship. But until you become, he cannot stay here to adjust status.
  9. I-485 can only be filed if he could adjust status in the US, but he cannot. He is going to apply for an immigrant visa via consular processing route. For that route I-485 is not needed. Consider hiring a lawyer if this is confusing or too complex. By the looks of it, you can make a lot of mistakes, which will cause huge delays or denial.
  10. Exactly. Most visit visas are denied @Fatima001 just so that you know.
  11. She can, but the big question is whether they can wait in the US. Probably no, by the looks of it.
  12. Yes she will get a 24 month extension letter. She can use it (with expired GC) to renew driver's license.
  13. @mabobine The user was last active on September 8, 2021, which is a year and three months ago. Don't expect to get your answer any time soon!
  14. All possible. They haven't properly looked at your file yet, it's in a big line. There are many filers from October, November and December 2021 who haven't been approved yet. And you're January 2022. Which service center is your case yet?
  15. @Nraf86 Not having finance comingling may have a big affect on your case, that's not great, it can be a big red flag. Was there a legitimate reason why you didn't comingle finances? Do you share anything? E.g. lease, insurances, travel together? Can you at least open joint bank account now?
  16. Yes it's ok to have expired one. Accompanied with unexpired letter of extension, you can travel internationally as long as you're back before letter expires. You can also get I-551 stamp at USCIS local field office by scheduling an Infopass appointment.
  17. USCIS is closed on Sundays (joking)
  18. Why would you need a police certificate from India? Did you live there for 6+ months since you turned 16?
  19. @kandikandi any plans for holiday in Mexico? You should be able to cross to the US by land without US passport 🙂 Another option to get a US passport in the UK through US embassy, which you should be able to do: https://uk.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/citizenship/applying-for-your-first-u-s-passport/
  20. I don't believe it's true the way it's written. Whether you need a visa or not depends only on foreign (non US) passport you have. Travel document allows coming back to the US only. For example, if you're an Indian citizen and applied for travel document, you need Schengen visa to travel to Germany. If you're French citizen and applied for travel document, you can travel to Germany visa free as always.
  21. I believe the whole amount for I-130 and I-485 (plus I-131, I-765 etc) is $1225. Nothing else. Based on https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator
  22. No, brother cannot adjust in the US, he's likely inadmissible. Sister cannot file for his whole family either.
