  1. Congratulations!!! You should be able to apply under 5 year rule if you've been LPR for over 5 years, didn't have any trips over 180 days at a time and in general spent over 30 months in the US in the last five years. Of course you should have filed taxes and didn't have any serious crimes.
  2. I actually got some mashed potatoes on Sunday since it was the poll winner at the time. It was so goooooooood 😃
  3. @beloved_dingo The GC may be taken away when getting ADIT (I-551) stamp. In that case the extension letter would be useless. Though it's hard to know whether he will get the extension letter, so the safest bet is the stamp.
  4. Ensure to send the new evidence though! You do not need a lawyer for simple I-751.
  5. Update for WAC November 2021 filers in 22XXX range as of 09:40 am PT today: - 3 x new (today) RFEs for cases in lower range - 4 x new (today) approvals for cases in lower range - 2 x new (today) approvals for cases in upper range
  6. A Nexus card alone should allow you to cross US / Canada border in both directions. Try presenting just the Nexus card next time.
  7. The author of this thread closed their account, so will never be able to reply.
  8. Employer based in India cannot sponsor you for H1B @Suman_P
  9. No, I'm November 2021 filer with 24 month extension so far. My service center is processing November 2021 cases, so I really really hope I won't need extension letters soon.
  10. That's great! If expiration of GC + 48 months is greater than expiration of I-551 stamp, you can use whichever is giving you longer extension. I thought you just filed I-751 recently and are not yet eligible for N-400?
  11. Did you get the stamp? Was your physical GC taken away? If you no longer have physical GC, extension letter is useless. If you have the card and expiration on GC + 48 months is valid, then yes, it will be better than stamps, if it gives you over 1 year extension remaining.
  12. I can resonate with that. US is my 4th country where I lived a significant chunk of my life. Within each country I lived in different cities. I consider planet Earth my home 😁 I regularly meet people people really struggling to comprehend it...
  13. Thank you for the update. When I traveled there weren't 30 machines. I do vaguely recall about 6-8 there. They might have been removed earlier.
  14. This is a good question. I believe you should be OK folding it, but I don't have 100% certainty about it. I don't fold mine out of caution. Losing it is going to be very problematic, so I do not carry the original with me (only a copy) everywhere unless I cross the border. Some say that's illegal. I also think waiting for 2+ years for replacement if I lose it, is ridiculous.
  15. 1. This can easily take 12-18 months to get. 2. It's really effective for trips over 1 year. Not sure what effect it may have on future N-400 application.
  16. Big no. Altering passport or extension letter in any form or shape is going to cause trouble.
  17. As long as you are back in the US before the expiry date on GC, you are fine! Just make sure to leave some buffer (at least few weeks) before it expires in case if flight is cancelled etc.
  18. That would be a very interesting subject to discuss as an off-topic. I remember naturalizing in one of the developed European countries and voting for the first time. The ballots printed on a cheap b&w printer on A4, cut into 4 pieces with pencil to make selection and no citizenship verification (no passport was asked). The ballots were dropped into a cheap black plastic bin. It looked even less credible than voting in one of the developing countries of my origin. At least there the ballots were watermarked, printed on expensive paper and passport was checked to ensure I had right to vote. Oh well...
  19. I'd get the appointment scheduled regardless sometime before DL expiry. DMV can be tough!
  20. Finding somebody wanting to do just the vax or full medical under $300 may be challenging. This is the price to pay unfortunately. Think how much that doctor gets per hour and their missed opportunity if they serve somebody for under $300. I would understand if the prices you were given were 500-800-1000. But 300 is reasonable nowadays.
  21. Awesome, and congratulations to you and your wife. Perhaps you could let the OP know of any potential pitfalls or gotchas.
  22. When does your ID expire? Wait for a month if you have time, you may get 48 months extension letter 🙃
  23. I believe you should be able to travel with it, if you still have the GC and valid 48 month extension letter, as long as it hasn't been 48 months since your GC expiry.
