  1. Hmmm very good point. This seems new. I filed 2 years ago. I'd follow instructions then.
  2. Yes, one check is fine, that's what I did. Double check the amounts though.
  3. Great thank you for clarifying @alegra. Here's my understanding (I'm not a lawyer). I would not submit anything from pre-marriage era. The instructions ask for evidence from start of marriage until date of filing. If you interpret it literally, you'd be resubmitting things like old leases, insurance etc along with current ones. That's what I did and got approved without RFE / interview. Others only submitted stuff for the timeframe from AOS approval until recent and got approved. Was there some repetition? Sure, in my case about 20% of evidence was repeated, but 80% was new evidence since AOS.
  4. I-751 requires proof of bonafide marriage from the wedding date to time of filing. In your case, since you're divorced, from the wedding date to the day you got divorced. This evidence, in fact, will prove that you didn't marry for immigration benefit.
  5. Does it include: - bus timetable - weather forecast - research paper on cosmic rays ? I think all the evidence listed is relevant for I-751. Can you give an example of unnecessary evidence?
  6. I'd worry more abour your ties. Your renewal may get denied anyways, even if you never had this conversation.
  7. I think I guessed most of it. Somehow missed the expiration date encoded 😊
  8. There's a reason - you want your case approved and without delays for RFEs, NOIDs, stokes interviews etc. Theoretically you only need evidence for I-485, I-131, I-765 and not for I-129F. But I'd reprove everything, wouldn't mind spending time and money to print that all again. You'd probably make all the money back in few hours of work.
  9. Hey guys, starting a new thread for discussing Hacking Immigration Show episodes / cases. Today (episode 461) Jim said one of his clients sent a sex tape on USB in attempt to prove bonafide marriage, responding to NOID 🤦‍♂️ How crazy is that?
  10. So what happens if you lose citizenship of your home country? Can't you visit on US passport? Worst case you'd apply for visa if US passport doesn't grant visa free access to your home country. Is losing some tax benefit / social benefit back at home country the reason why you postponed naturalizing in the US? It's really not a good reason, as US isn't responsible for your financial wellbeing overseas. I doubt this would be taken into consideration when N-336 is reviewed.
  11. I noticed the following info included in the machine readable code at the back of GC: - Alien Number - USCIS Case Number related to this GC - DOB - Gender (possibly)? - Not sure, birth country code? - Name Some parts I can't decipher but curious what they mean.
  12. Did you authorize credit card charge? Was your spouse's name on credit card account? If you did not authorize this charge, you can dispute it by calling credit card issuer. If she was an authorized user, had card in her name - you're equally liable for debt. You should also be careful reporting unauthorized charge. If you have a fradulent claim (e.g. lie about unauthorized charge when in fact it was authorized by you), the consequences may be not so good. In any case, you need to replace your credit cards your spouse had / has access to.
  13. Most of immigration process requires info about travel in the last 10 years. It's been longer than 10 years since 2011. It's unlikely going to be an issue. But to be bullet proof, OP can ask for parent's passports and find those dates / stamps since they travelled together.
  14. What's the point are you trying to make? You know from immigration process, a lot of the times the questions are asked not because USCIS / DHS / DOS don't have a record, but because moral character is tested. E.g. they have info and you're lie - you don't get immigration benefit. OP has nothing to hide. Yes, they no longer have the passport as it was lost / misplaced. This is not end of the world. Unlike missing marriage certificate / birth certificate etc, this document cannot be "reconstructed" with all the prior stamps, visas etc. When it's lost, it's lost.
  15. This is the key fact OP needs to take into consideration ^^ This also restricts any ability to travel back to India for 1-2 years. Which is "very long" in OP's words and can seem even longer for a new immigrant. @VISAUSERMRG US immigration process is long, expensive and stressful. Make sure you're ready for it. Read the forum to get the gist.
  16. Make sure to never repeat your parent's mistake. Always keep expired passports, you'll never know when you may be asked for them again. IF you're asked for any other passports, and whether you had any before, you need to answer truthfully. Tell what you just told me and you shouldn't be penalized for it as far as I know . But don't bring the subject yourself. Only answer what's asked.
  17. Not an issue, since you can't provide what you don't have. But make sure to bring all other expired passports with US visas / stamps.
  18. Though the timeline does look like it's taking a little longer for N-400, seems perfectly fine for I-751 in today's terms. WoM?
  19. Usually, LPRs show GC to airline in order to board the plane to the US. Being a Canadian citizen, you're in somewhat priviliged spot, as not only travel to the US is visa free, but also it doesn't require ESTA. I'd think the only people in your case who need to see your GC would be CBP on US soil or US customs officials at preclearance location in Canada. Canadians would be able to comment on their experience.
  20. File again. Make sure to file when you're actually ready to become a US citizen. Fighting for reconcideration may be longer and more expensive.
  21. I tried updating info with GE enrollment center twice. Every time I was told by staff it's impossible while I-751 is pending. The problem is with kiosk when it asks for document (GC). If it's expired, it won't allow to proceed and refer to human.
  22. Oh ok, didn't realize visa was aleady granted. Too late then. FYI it can take over a year to receive a AP.
  23. 1) It may take many months to receive AP 2) Why not just marry, file I-130 and consular process? K-1 and AOS are primarily for those who want to come to the US and go through immigration while living in the US. It's more expensive, more restrictive in terms of travel than CR-1 / IR-1
