  1. Yes, can travel with expired GC + extension letter + valid passport. For I-9 verification at work, it's best to show unrestricted social security card and state ID / DL
  2. Whoever filed I-864 when OP filed forms for GC remains a sponsor until OP becomes a citizen or earns 40 quarters of social security credits. When sponsors move they must file I-865. LPRs file AR-11.
  3. Not an issue at all. Sorry you had to wait for 2 hours. When I did my biometrics pre pandemic, it took no more than 10 minutes.
  4. AR-11 is always about your physical location (where you sleep at night) more than what you own / where you have lease.
  5. The AR-11 and I-865 should be filed based on dates you actually moved. Dates of lease starting / ending is a different thing. USCIS is concerned about your physical location, not paperwork. Yes, all sponsors must file I-865 within 30 days of moving. You can only be responsible for yourself by filing AR-11. You cannot force other people to file I-865, though they're required. P.S. Don't worry about it too much. It's better to file late than never.
  6. It's possible they take money and then reject packet for incorrect fees. That's mean but USCIS can do it.
  7. Hard to tell, why did you wait until last minute to file? Good luck and give us an update when you find out.
  8. Can be printed. As long as it's signed it's OK. I provided few for my I-751. It needs to be notarized or at least you need to provide a copy of person's ID.
  9. Your I-751 is now in different queue. It's impossible to tell how long it would take. The good news is, you can file Write of Mandamus to get decision on both I-751 and N-400 if you don't hear anything from USCIS 60 days after your interview.
  10. It's way too close to 180 days, I wouldn't be suprised if officer asked about ties to the US during this trip.
  11. @Fiance1 did you fiance complete DS-3025? If the exam was marked completed , then you can send a copy with AOS and no I-693 is needed. If DS-3025 was not checked completed, then yes new exam is needed.
  12. Even if you could use this payment in your income, you'd be too close to below the requirement. Joint sponsor is the way to go in my opinion.
  13. I hope you get somebody adequate helping you at the check in. Good luck!
  14. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/form-i-797-types-and-functions It's more about airlines and less about Mexico border control from what I understand. There's very few airline staff who can distinguish I-797 from I-797A. When I travelled with extension letter, one airline got confused about the letter (48 months) and called the manager. The manager said: "You need to add 4 years to expiration as extension letter says." I expect this level of education, unfortunately, which makes it hard to convince I-797, I-797A and I-797C are different forms 😊
  15. I'm in higher tax bracket but it's still lower than what I would have paid in EU. Though I agree, the tendency for taxes to increase isn't great.
  16. Absolutely not. It's not enough to enter Mexico. Enter the US by land - yes (after long secondary check)
  17. Well, if you withhold more from income, then you'll always get the refund.
  18. Typically 2-4 weeks before GC itself. Yes, it's an important document that I'd keep safe.
  19. I wouldn't believe anything they promise until you have approval letter and GC.
  20. No problem. If you have a house and it's too much hassle to update title, you can keep it as is. As long as you have other financials merged you should be fine.
  21. 1. Was DS-3025 marked completed? Did you have all vaccinations etc? 2. Should have sent a copy of entire DS-3025. I think one page may trigger RFE
  22. I'd say there's one to one relationship between I-751 and G-1145. I've never heard anybody trying to file two G-1145 with one I-751. You can try, here are the possible outcomes: - USCIS notifies based on information on both forms (as you want) - USCIS is confused and picks a random form to notify and ignores the second - USCIS is confused and doesn't set up any notifications I think VJ community will appreciate your data point, if you're going to try and update us with outcome.
