  1. Yes, whether you have approved or pending I-751, if you're applying based on marriage to US citizen for 3 years, you need to bring marital evidence and be ready to prove your bonafide marriage. Some people never had 2 year GC. Then entered the US, received their 10 year unconditional GC because they were married for 2+ years. But if they apply under 3 year rule, they'll have to prove marriage.
  2. If you filed N-400 under general provision, based on being a permanent resident for 5 years, then wife doesn't play a big role and isn't part of the process. USCIS can still ask about her and your marriage. If you applied for N-400 under 3 year rule, based on marriage to US citizen, she's 100% part of the process.
  3. Generally, within 90 days but for some it takes months. Endorsed immigrant visa in passport is valid for a year and serves as proof of status.
  4. They should not have I-751 interview if youe GC is being produced. Take new GC and I-751 approval letter to interview and give it to officer when they ask to see GC. Even if they were going to do I-751, they would then realize they don't need to. Anything about your immigration, background and your spouse. Remember dates, names, trips you took, places you lived at, placed you worked at. Know marriage date, birthday of your spouse and kids, where do they work or study, how you met.
  5. December 2024 filers stats as of 02/21/2025 @ 4:15 PM ET: Approved: 441 Denied: 2 Fingerprints Scheduled: 627 Interview Cancelled: 85 Interview Scheduled: 7603 Pending: 4 Processing: 19215 Received: 42 ResponseToRFE: 4 RFE: 35 Withdrawal: 8 OathCeremonyNotice: 265 OathCeremonyScheduled: 202 OathCeremonyReady: 1 So, another 31 folks were approved so far today (and maybe more at later in the day, especially in CT and PT time zones)
  6. Congrats with approval! The question should be "What's the likelihood of USCIS asking where the spouse is if I come without her?" Yes, quite a big chance. If she comes with you, it's unlikely she'll need to go inside the room for N-400 interview.
  7. There must have been a good delay between filing N-400 and I-751 approval. I wouldn't link them together.
  8. In your case, make sure to bring certified copies of marriage certificate (you get them from county clerk). If any of you had divorces, make sure to bring divorce decrees too.
  9. Again, no. My answer will remain the same no matter how many times it's asked 😃
  10. I think it was called Elis fee and it was around forever. Just maybe a smaller amount and different procedure to pay it.
  11. 17 is what we see right now. Bear in mind, from what I read this morning, US embassies may be scaled down too soon. Meaning, after I-130 approval it may take longer to get interview and immigrant visa.
  12. So you applied for an immigrant visa. You didn't apply for GC directly. You got GC after entering on immigrant visa. Either way, for FOIA, ask for all immigration files from both DOS and USCIS. That way you'll have a clear picture of entire immigration history. Again, unless you have a valid reason to believe your case has issues, there's no need for FOIA. Good luck!
  13. Read it carefully. Here's quote from Step 12: "What do I need to do before I travel? You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you receive your immigrant visa and before you travel to the United States. Only children who enter the United States under the Orphan or Hague adoption programs, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas are exempt from this fee. Please visit the USCIS website for more information and to pay the fee.  Please Note: USCIS will not issue a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551 or Green Card) until you have paid the fee."
  14. There won't be any fee request in mail
  15. No. Stay put and wait.
  16. Unlikely going to help. I don't see why USCIS would give preference to somebody who filed a free form. I-130s take about 17 months, so you're half way through. Why don't you visit your husband in his country or meet elsewhere?
  17. Hopefully you mean I-130, because there is no form I-30. You can safely ignore estimates on MyProgress. They'll continue jumping up and down until case is decided. Many people see several months left until decision on the day of their approval. I-130 takes give or take 17 months nowadays. If you filed in September 2024, you can expect approval towards the end of February 2026 or beginning of March 2026 if things continue getting processed at current speed. Good luck!
  18. Agreed, plus the fees alone are several $$$$ higher for K-1
  19. No Depends on what your case is... 3 year rule vs 5 year rule, current marital status, how many time you and spouse were married, whether you have kids, whether you had any criminal charges or citations etc etc. For example, somebody who got GC through diversity lottery and was never married, applying on 5 year rule wouldn't need marriage certificate or bank statements VS somebody applying based on marriage to US citizen who would need those. Another example, somebody who never had a speeding ticket has nothing to bring VS somebody who had has to bring paperwork related to paying fines or how else case was resolved. Somebody who never had kids, has nothing to bring regarding them. Somebody who has them now should bring birth certificates. Somebody who has kids living with ex spouse should bring evidence of paying child support. I hope you get the idea.
  20. Could be either. A lot of the times, left hand doesn't know what the right hand does at USCIS.
  21. You're pretty brave! VJ has many examples when Credit Card gets declined and packet gets rejected
  22. Tax Return Transcripts from IRS website. They're free to download, smaller and preferred by USCIS. 1040 doesn't prove you filed taxes. You could just fill form and not send it. Tax return transcript is generated by IRS after then process your taxes and issue return if any.
  23. They run the business and can decide what's worth their time?
  24. Of course, oath can only happen after interview and approval. I'd be comparing it to Approved. Those folks went through entire process except oath. I expect oath to grow over the next several weeks. And in several months it will be larger than any other status, meaning pretty much everybody got processed.
