  1. From carrier guide: "A Lawful Permanent Resident may travel to the United States without a passport with a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551). Cards with expired I-551s may be boarded without penalty if the card was issued with a 10-year expiration date. " But how likely airline is going to honor it, is a question.
  2. Nobody can tell you with certainty. But API may be somewhat more reliable. You can speak to 3 different agents and get 3 different answers.
  3. Yes, don't create confusion by providing doc with conflicting name. Interview is guaranteed for N-400, so bring it there.
  4. I'd say better not include current version. Bring it to interview or upload corrected later.
  5. I see, I was adjusting in 2019, so things may have changed by then. Thank you for sharing your experince.
  6. Couldn't agree more. Also, I'd add - don't be worried if MyProgress completely dissappears or shows "Your case is taking longer than expected". Both are irrelevant
  7. CSPA calculation is: CSPA Age = Age at Visa Availability − Time Petition Was Pending Using this calculation, was your child under 21 or over 21? This determines whether CSPA applies to him.
  8. Agreed, I had AOS before COVID. Interview being waived wasn't a thing at all.
  9. For that, you should have received confirmation proving you changed address. You cannot justify not updating address because you think they'd think something. Not needed
  10. Sorry for late reply. In my case, QR code directed to "scheduling system", which was office locator with wrong phone number pretty much. This is the QR code I saw in SSA itself and on the print out empoyee gave me. The only thing, employee wrote real phone number on paper under QR code, which helped me to schedule appointment.
  11. Please read my first message in the thread, it explains everything in great detail. If you're calling 1-800-772-1213 to make appointment, forget it. Nobody picks up phone there. I found direct phone number of my SSA office by going there in person. Google Maps, other things showed the number above which nobody ever answers. I use online to check whether they're working on my request. Again, more details in prior messages. Good luck!
  12. On the day of my oath, estimate showed 3 weeks until decision... Oh wait, I mentioned it already 😃
  13. Too early for anything to happen. You can expect it to be decided between March and June on 2026
  14. Abroad means outside of China in this context
  15. I'm really sorry about your situation. If your son is unmarried, it would take 10 years or so whether you're LPR or US citizen... There's nothing really you can do. By law he cannot be given visa any time soon.
  16. This makes sense, of course you cannot travel on German passport since you're no longer a citizen. OP is a dual citizen and their travel will be different. Also, with introduction of ETIAS, whenever it is enforced, travelling on EU passport would mean you don't have to fill forms and pay fees.
  17. To avoid questioning at the border when entering Germany? I'm not familiar with German laws, but most of countries require their citizens to enter on proper passport of their nationality, not foreign.
  18. MyProgress is notoriously inaccurate, whether it's estimated time or current step...
  19. Just a disclaimer, uploading doesn't provide you with proof of delivery. If somehow the file disappears from portal, USCIS can say "we never received your reply" and you won't have much evidence to say otherwise. Whereas mailing with proof of delivery is a solid evidence of your reply being received by USCIS.
  20. OK, got a bit of progress going... When trying to replace card online today, got message: "We're sorry. We are currently updating our information based on your prior request. Please try again online starting May XX, 2025. You may begin a replacement social security card request using another online social security card processing application. You may also contact your local office for other replacement card options." So the way I interpret it, SSA is finally working on my request updating citizenship status.
  21. @ramr I got cheap folders on Amazon. Black and Blue. Black contained all original documents, such as birth certificates, naturalization cert, passports. Anything I expect to get back. Blue folders (there were a lot more of them) contained docs and evidence I could just give away as I had digital copies and could produce more easily. Within folders I used small sticky note flags / tabs (also available on Amazon and in many store with stationary even Walgreens). Those little sticky notes had abbreviations written by me such as: BC - birth certificate WBC - wife's birth certificate NC - naturalization certificate WNC - wife's naturalization cert I think you get the idea? These little stickers would be placed one after other in a row, so if I open folder I can see instantly what I need go get. The folders themselves would have one or those stickers on outside telling the contents of folder, such as: - Originals - Utilities - Banks - Taxes - Receipts - House - Photos For bank statements and utilities, those little stickers would have years written on them: 2025, 2024, 2023 etc so I could find easily any particular year. This is what worked for me, but you can adjust as you need for yourself. Originals that I was asked to present: - Passports from other 2 nationalities I had - Drivers license for myself (it was 5 year rule interview) - Green Card That's it Bear in mind, I kept old passports in folder just in case, but was never asked for old ones. Good luck!
  22. If you want to be super prepared, yes, all evidence since wedding date. The most important docs are though your passports, birth certificates of children, marriage certificate, IDs of you and your spouse with matching address. Plus tax return transcripts. This is the minimum I brought about 500 pages of evidence for my N-400 under 5 year rule. Thankfully, didn't need any of it. But nobody can predict what officer will ask for, so the more you have, the smoother it will go. From phychological perspective, by bringing tons of evidence you're demonstrating you can prove your case no matter what IO throws at you. Many IOs don't even bother asking seeing you're very prepared.
