I just found on here that someone on VJ has been through this and she chose (with success) to “Enter the US before the expiry date to validate the VISA” as opposed to “Let the visa expire and make a written request to the Embassy for a new visa (and a new medical exam)”

What should/do I do if I have less than a month before visa expires? As I have to give my work 1 month notice. Currently I cant hand in my notice as I am still waiting for the visa to be issued. Wondering if anyone experienced this.

Good evening all, I am still waiting for CR1 visa which is in AP. My medical exam expires beginning of August (I believe this is when the visa expires too). I’m worried that if the Visa is issued mid July I will run of time to enter the U.S. as I need to give my work one month notice, organise shipping etc. Has anyone experienced such a tight window ? Thank you everyone.

Good morning all, Does anyone know what happens if our medical exam expires before the CR1 visa is issued please ? I’m still waiting for the visa (had my interview 1 month ago on April 5th 2024 and submitted the document CO requested one day after the interview. I had an email advising me the embassy confirmed they had all the documents they needed, my case is pending review. A rather long wait considering CO told me on April 5th it would take 1-2 weeks. Thank you everyone.

When did you have your interview? I was requested to resubmit online (CEAC) I never received any email. Try a phone number from the contact us section after you log onto your account. I will try that.

@amnw Hi, CO said 1-2 weeks after resubmitting the doc on CEAC but it’s been 24 days for us and still nothing

Dear all, I had my interview April 5th, all went well and I did not need to go back to the embassy but the CO asked me to resubmit my husband divorce document from his previous marriage to CEAC as she could not see it in her system (she saw the original which I took with me). Once they looked at it and print it off, should be all good. I was advised this should take 1-2 weeks but today is Thursday of the 2nd week. I have done this on the same day and the next day to be sure. Does anyone have experienced this and how long did it take for the visa to be issued after you have resubmitted the requested document(s) please? Thank you so much.

Dear all, My interview’date is set, however after having registered with the US embassy in London I received an email saying that the priority date could change/the consulate could cancel the whole slot and we would have to reschedule ourselves. Has anyone experienced this? Thank you, Deejee

Us too, we DQ on Jan 12th and we received IL email today for April 5th. Does anyone know how long the interview take? Thank you.
