  1. The K-1 visa is treated as an immigrant visa during some processes of the application. You are a K-1 so some portions will be considered immigrant and other parts non-immigrant. The spousal visa will always be immigrant.
  2. You can check the status on line. If you have the appointment and medical that is the big part. You must just email them at ivbogota@state.gov. If they don't send you a letter by your appointment date you will be denied. An email trail is better than a phone call. You can print out your attempts by email. Not with phone calls. Good luck
  3. You won't get a package in the mail. You will get a email with your next steps.
  4. I followed the lead of another member here who has a interview in Bogota. I sent an email to ivbogota@state.gov telling them that I received an email stating our case was ready and asking them what my next steps were. Two days later I received the welcome letter from the embassy. They are scheduling interviews for the end of June at this time. Medical appointments are at a premium right now. Good luck
  5. I did as you suggested and setup the interview. I have a few questions for you. When you get a chance message me. Thanks
  6. I think when you receive the letter from the embassy they also send you a number which the doctor will ask for when scheduling an appointment. I could be wrong but that is what our lawyer has told us.
  7. Send a Ask NVC every week until you get a number. You actually need 2 numbers one starts with the 3 letters for embassy abbreviation followed by 10 numbers. It takes about 5 to 6 days to get a reply from Ask NVC. The other one 8 numbers it is called the invoice I. D number. I sent about 5 or 6 inquires before the numbers were both sent. I got 1 number on 3/28 and the other number on 4/3/23. They are so confused.
  8. I stand corrected. We received a letter from the NVC stating that our case has been sent to the consulate. After checking I can see on the NVC site that it is in transit. I think the NVC are sending out confusing messages. Received NOA2 on 1/30/23 Sent many Ask NVC inquires. March 28th received a number BGT2023#######. You need another number from them to track your case. Sent another inquiry on 3/28/23 on 4/3/23 they sent us 2 more numbers which let us track the case. On 4/11/23 received letter that our case was in transit to Embassy.
  9. We received the same letter. We got our I-797 on 1/30/23. Waited a very long time before we got our numbers I even contacted our senators office and that office had no idea of why it took over 50 days to get our numbers. Now we just wait for the Embassy to put us in line. Good luck.
  10. As with you we were sent the I-797 (71) days ago. Received no numbers at that time. Waited 30 days then sent a Ask NVC inquiry. Reply was they are waiting data entry. Submitted a Ask NVC every week for the next 3 weeks and finally got 3 numbers. Only 2 are needed to complete the next stages. Today we received the welcome letter from the NVC stating that our petition has been forwarded to the Embassy. Checked the status in the NVC and states " In Transit ".
  11. We finally got our numbers from NVC 50 plus days after the NOA2. I inquired through Ask NVC 5 times in 4 weeks. I was told the last time that the case is in route to the Embassy but in checking the case is still waiting at NVC. We have yet to get the welcome letter from the NVC. USCIS are in a confused state and have no idea of what they are doing.
  12. Yes the Titers test. We already checked for the test in Colombia but you have to go to the bigger cities. That will be on the list to do asap. Thanks
  13. Can I ask how you took your medical exam without the letter from the Embassy? I have seen where the doctors will not schedule an appointment without the letter from the Embassy. Thanks
  14. You will get the NOA2 via email. Once you get to that stage you can update your information at " Ask NVC " to update your information. Once you notified that your case was moved to the NVC Google Ask NVC and it will send you to the page where you can update your information.
  15. Don't know of any but you are spot on. We were one of the first December filers to be approved for the I-797 on 1/29/23. We are still waiting for a case number from the NVC. Can't forward any information to the NVC without a number. Have made 4 inquiries in the last 4 weeks and they are clueless on why it has taken 60 days to get a case number from the NVC. Hopefully this isn't a continued problem.
  16. Our case was approved 58 days ago and still no letter from the NVC. Inquired once a week for the last 4 weeks and reply was they are waiting for the data entry into the system. Sent an email to my senators office and after 1 week the reply was it is taking longer than normal. Great reply from their office. All times are going up not down.
  17. You have a K-1 case pending and your fiance is already in the US? The USCIS is totally messed up recently. After 60 days I received a NVC number which I couldn't use because it was for someone else. They haven't got a clue.
  18. Thanks for the reply. The reason I ask is because I read that they will give you all the required ones but charge you more because they know you have to have their blessing with the medical.
  19. Foreignmiks other than the Titers test what test did they use to detect which vaccinations you already had?
  20. A medical exam is required before the interview. The US medical community has a better system for record keeping than a lot of other countries. My question is has anyone had the experience of going to the medical exam with few records on what vaccinations they have had over the years? If so what was the process to complete that part of the exam? Thanks
  21. Has anyone recently set up or been to a K-1 interview for the embassy in Bogota? What was the wait time and results. Thanks
  22. You need to see what paperwork is needed for the children to cross into the country. Your fiance may need to have sole custody of the children before they can leave the country.
