  1. Background I'm American, wife is Filipino. We're married for 2 years, had baby in Philippines. We're now "conditionally IR-1" and got an interview date. We have her uncle as a financial sponsor. Need help: What updated documents do we need for the interview from me and her uncle? So far I can think of W2s, tax transcripts, 1040 tax form, 6 months of pay stubs. Are we missing anything?
  2. My wife lived in Japan for a few years and we just received its police clearance in the Philippines. Do we (for those that experienced the same thing) open up the police clearance and scan it, or do we scan the envelope and upload it to NVC? We're scared opening up the clearance will invalidate it and having to get another clearance will either take a long time or not possible at all.
  3. the income definitely qualifies her. I'm just worried about if she has to live in my household address to qualify. Talking to USCIS agents so far, they say the "joint sponsor" needs to live in the same household as me, so it has me worried.
  4. I got laid off from my job and it seems really difficult to land another job in time for the immigration process if I'm being realistic. My wife's cousin is a green card holder who has lived in America for about 7 months now with just 1 tax return so far. Does she qualify to be joint sponsor? Her cousin doesn't live with me, so she's not considered part of my household. From what I've read, it seems that a "join sponsor" would need 3 years worth of tax returns and be in the same household as me? When I asked Emma and spoke with a live agent, they pointed me to these links: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864a.pdf https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864ainstr.pdf
  5. Resolved, i found the answers here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/while-abroad/birth-abroad.html
  6. I married a filipina in the Philippines, we're working on our spouse visa now. She also got pregnant and we're expecting in a few months. Because I'm American, what are the steps I'd need to take to make sure my baby gets US citizenship even though they will be born in the Philippines? Where can I get more information on this subject?
  7. We're at the USCIS stage and waiting for our NVC case number. In the meantime, my wife's tourist visa to visit america expired. Can she renew her tourist visa to visit me in the states? How long can she stay?
