Mike E I am on a W2. Based on my household size I was a few dollars short of meeting the income requirements. My current income met the guidelines and it was listed on the form and I included a letter of promotion as well. All of this was sent to my lawyer who completed the forms and I signed.

Hi everyone, I need some guidance or advice. We sent our I-485 in May and it was received 5/12/2023 by USCIS. May 23rd we received the Biometrics appointment, but right before the Biometrics appointment we received a Request for Initial Evidence ☹️. The issue was our initial Joint sponsor is legally separated from her spouse , living in separate residences, but they say he still must be added to the application. He agreed to complete an I-864 household member to combine incomes, but our Lawyer says he cannot because they do not live in the same household. He meets the income requirements to be a joint sponsor, but since he filed single on his taxes, our lawyer says it is a discrepancy because he will be checking the box that says married. I am so confused as to why he must be added to the application as a spouse, but cannot be used as a household member for income purposes. At this point we have no one else who is willing. I received a promotion on my work and meet the income guidelines for this year, but they do not care about this year, only current tax returns. Is there a website where you can find a joint sponsor. Has anyone had any luck finding a stranger who was willing to sponsor? Any guidance will be helpful and appreciated.
