  1. Hi Everyone, I'm new to the website, so please forgive me if my question formatting is wrong, or I'm not using the forum correctly. I will be glad to correct anything accordingly. I'll try to keep it brief. I'm sponsoring my parents for an IR5 Visa. Their I-130 was approved, and their applications were at NVC under the "Documentarily Qualified" status before my Mom was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer. She started treatment in our home country, but our lawyer in the US proceeded to apply for an expedite request on medical grounds (for both her and my father). The request was approved in 48 hours. Their files then changed status to "In Transit" and they stayed in that status for 7 days until last week. Exactly 1 week ago the status changed to "Ready." Their cases are being handled at Abu Dhabi, UAE. They still haven't gotten their interview date or any email notices. This is what CEAC says: Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview Does anyone know how long it can take before they get the email to set their interview date? We're in a hurry because she will need liver surgery after she completes 6 rounds of chemo. We already have health insurance figured out, so as soon she and my Dad arrived, they will have coverage. I just need them to get the interview scheduled. Will it be much longer before they hear? Thank you so much!
