No, but it’s basically the same status updates except K1 has Application Received and Approved as well.

The issue perhaps is that you’re trying to make sense of the status changes, when really the only one that matters is “Issued.” “Administrative Processing” status is good too, as it often happens right before printing. There is no standard progression really. Mine was “Issued” and went back to “Refused” for a day, never got “Administrative Processing.” Goes to show how you can’t assign too much meaning to the status. Good job with the RCMP certificate.

It’s a template. Just get a new medical, the panel physician handles the rest. Contact the panel physician and tell them the consulate has your passport and ask what they want to do.

AP is not just for incomplete or insufficient documents, it is also for vetting and verification. If your status changed to “Administrative Processing” on CEAC from “Refused” it’s usually a good thing, it means they’re almost ready to issue the visa. If they weren’t, it would remain in “Refused (long text)” while 221g AP is sorted.

That’s so messed up that they directed you to Toyota Canada👎

It looks like your original issue was an incorrect PCC, but now that they’ve asked you for DS 5535 your situation changes. Missing documents are usually resolved in 6-8 weeks, but DS 5535 is extreme vetting and that doesn’t usually resolve in Montreal for many months, or a year plus for some. Wish you a speedy resolution!

Until recently most had their passports kept after interview. They probably realized how inefficient that was, as some had to request for them back for travel. They don’t need the passport for anything aside from visa printing.

It doesn’t mean anything aside from you can’t travel internationally, if that’s fine for an applicant then by all means.

I think you’re confused, or you’re not understanding the process. Whatever they asked for, give it to them. If they also asked for DS 5535, that usually means you’ll be waiting a while. No point in sending your passport before your DS 5535 clears.

It’s not the norm for a DS-5535 to clear in 6-8 weeks.

The negative? The consulate will hold on to the passport until the 5535 clears… which could be several months or a year plus.

Don’t confuse your situation with that of others. You’re in 221g for an incorrect PCC. The other poster is in 221g for extreme vetting.

Definitely do not send your passport until you are asked for it. Buckle in, DS-5535 takes a while.

That’s just the refusal worksheet. The DS 5535 is the supplemental questions, and passport is your passport, all things they will need to issue your visa. DC

Whoa, they want it as a .txt file now? Interesting. The 221g slip is just what’s outstanding. So supplemental questions (DS 5535), then once that’s cleared on their end they’ll ask for your passport to be sent back to them, so they can print the visa, hence “passport.”

PIC is honestly the best of that list, but you should do consults and you’ll see the difference firsthand.

I don’t think you’re overreacting, it’s quite reasonable for you to worry about another thing possibly delaying what’s already been an incredibly long wait. It’s always better to use the ais system when sending stuff in, things can get lost in the shuffle otherwise. Also, everything goes to a pre-screening site first, so it can take a while for documents to land on a CO’s desk; it’s not unusual for people to wait 6-8 weeks after document submission.

You should get a new one ASAP and send it in - use the aisusvisa system. Out or curiosity, when was your interview?

F1 Visa Revoked at interview

Canada’s easy, lots of world class schools there! -
The 221g worksheet are the things that need to be done before a visa can be issued. So, in your case, the 5535, once that clears, and then passport returned so they can print the visa.
