    I filed my taxes as single even after getting legally married abroad. I had no problem in USCIS or NVC stage. I got both approval and DQ.

    Thank you so much. I let her know she’ll most likely interview in Arabic and she was so relieved. Do you know what happens if they skip a month for IL? Possibly next month they’ll double up? Or is it just lost.

    I agree with your husband. Party or not as long as the evidence is there then I think it’ll be ok. I’ve been back to Amman 4 times since we got katb ktab in Aug ‘21. We have travelled all Jordan together and have plenty of pictures. We will be in the Maldives in March!!! So I think that we will be fine. I wish you an easy rest of your journey! Do you know if my wife needs to speak English at the interview? She is not comfortable enough with English yet. She understands 100% but speaking she still isn’t confident in. This is something I haven’t found a definitive answer for.

    Oh no! That never even crossed my mind. I always assumed the Embassy understood the culture in Jordan. I would have had my ceremony last year but leaving a newly wed wife all alone just doesn’t feel right. 😕 Do you know any more specific details regarding the girls who got 221g? Was it solely based on the lack of a ceremony? Do you have your venue booked yet? Maybe that might help.

    I was afraid of that. I hadn’t heard of anyone receiving any. There’s still some time left, who knows… We decided not to wait and are having our wedding ceremony in Amman this February. I was praying that her IL would arrive so when we got back from our honeymoon (mid-March) she could come home with me. Still praying for that!

    What’s the word on IL’s that went out this month? What dates were covered? Still clearing 4 months per month?

    If you haven’t tried this already you should use a PC and try again. Sometimes it will work. Also try multiple browsers. I had this problem and used Firefox and it worked.

    If you have a DQ email and message in the message center then you are DQ. Don't worry, I would not reupload anything. But if the Documentarily Qualified (DQ) message is not in your message center then YES reupload the document. I have DQ but it says INCOMPLETE for Police Certificate (Jordan), even though I already uploaded it and it was accepted and the message was not there a week ago. I would not worry. A lot of these lawyers don't have the answers, trust in the system and yourself. Wish you the best.

    I would assume federal holidays do effect review times. No one works on Christmas observed which is Monday December 26, 2022. Also people tend to take more than one day during this period. However a day or two truly don’t matter in the larger scheme of things.

    Something similar happened to me before. It took 7 days to show the change. I would not worry. Hopefully they will accept your documents and you will move to embassy soon.

    I read on fb that a k1 from May-2022 got her interview in October and visa issued in early November. Do you know if k1 and cr1 are processed in same amount of time?

    Start the application, get things moving. Depending on the country she is from getting a passport could take days or months. With wait-times for USCIS and NVC getting shorter, I would get the passport sooner rather than later. I know in Lebanon the wait time for passport issuance or renewal is currently min 6-9 months while in Jordan it’s sometimes done on the spot.
