  1. Hello all! Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I believe it isn't. I am the beneficiary of a spousal application, we applied in June, of 2022. We applied for 485, 131, 130 and 765 and as yet have not received any. I understand the average waiting times for greencards are lengthy and have no issue with this, but is becoming increasingly necessary that I am able to earn money soon. I went in to my local USCIS office a couple of weeks ago, and the officer was nice enough to sit me down and look at the case on the system. Evidently because of the enormous backlog, he said it appears as if my application had been earmarked for an interview waiver and would go straight to decision. He also said he could see it had been in 'final adjudication' since September. Fine. It seems however that in the process here my applications for work and travel permits are being ignored. At least that's how I see it. Is anyone aware if this is the case? Are there any steps I can take to ensure the USCIS is still aware I would like, and need, a permit to work and potentially travel home to the UK to see relatives? I have already applied for expedition in both instances, and after the request for supporting evidence (which I faxed off immediately around 2 months ago) have heard nothing. A separate officer in a different USCIS office (when I attempted to apply for an emergency parole doc) also told me "If I were you I would be going on the website and prompting them everyday". I'll be honest I have no idea what this means, and he was extremely careful to keep repeating "this isn't advice, just what I would do". Clearly I am clueless, and clearly there are probably tens of thousands like me, I just wondered if anyone had any pearls of wisdom to drop. Sincerely A desperate Brit.
