Greetings my friend, I am also in the same Telegram group you are referring too. The lawyer I have representing me is through Morrison-Urena if that helps bring some clarity to your situation. I dont want to say which of the two is representing me as I don't want to make this post seem disingenuous, but I feel like I know exactly what your feeling and how maddening it can be-- as there are alot of us out there that currently going through the same thing. If you want to talk or need some tips, please feel free to reach out. Additionally, if you need some resources there are plenty of High Quality videos on Joshua Goldstiens channel that help bring some clairty to this really confusing and unclear process (his latest one more specifically [On DS-5535]. Additionally, I will keep tabs on my timeline and update it the further we get so everyone can see and I highly suggest you do the same as well to help out others as it really brings a sense of hope to everyone watching. As far as I am concerned though K1's and IR1's are typically faster going through the process as you have seen through the telegram channel.

As of Yesterday (Friday July 21st 2023) my Lawyer and the U.S. Attorneys office have established communications. Bear in mind this more likely just to see what my case is about (potentially just a curtsey) rather than turning into a professional into a adjudication of my fiancés clearance. My lawyer has also sent some evidence over to their office so as right now, so the ball is in their court (no pun intended).

K1 Visa previous deportation from Korea
Inveigh replied to rollojusten's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
OP, here is the link to the DS-160 your fiance will fill out before she attends her K1 Visa Interview: DS-160-Example_11-19-2020.pdf (state.gov) Below are questions that pertain to your situation. DS-160: Security and Background Part 1 - Question 1 "Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though the subject of a pardon, amnesty or similar situation." DS-160: Security and Background Part 4 - Question 1 "Have you ever been the Subject of a removal or deportation hearing?" These are subjects of questioning your fiancé will have to fill out and answer before attending her interview. If I were you, I would have the documentation. Depending on the answers to these two questions, they will require you to explain why this happened and for your fiance to show proof. -

Why would they need a Korea Police Report if they weren't a Korean Citizen and it isn't their country of domicile? -
Thank you for your response. To provide further context, my fiancé had her interview at the U.S. Embassy, and during the interview, she was instructed by the embassy officials to mail her passport to the U.S. embassy in Ankara once it was approved. However, they did not provide her with specific instructions or procedures for sending the passport. It felt conveyed to her that she needed to arrange the mailing on her own without any further guidance from the embassy. We understand that sending an unsolicited passport may not be the usual procedure, which is why we are seeking advice and information from members of this forum who may have gone through a similar experience or have knowledge about mailing passports from Iran to the Ankara Embassy for the K1 visa process.

Hello Visa Journey Members, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your valuable advice and guidance on behalf of my fiancé who is currently facing an issue in the K1 visa application process. As my fiancé is an Iranian citizen, there is no U.S. embassy in Iran for the K1 visa process. Therefore, we have been advised to send her passport to the U.S. embassy in Ankara, Turkey in order to avoid taking a flight once her status turns to approved. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone who has been through a similar situation or has knowledge about mailing passports from Iran to the Ankara Embassy could provide us with some insights. We have a few specific questions: Shipping Options: Which shipping service(s) did you or your fiancé use to mail the passport from Iran to the Ankara Embassy? Are there any specific couriers that are reliable, efficient, and have experience in handling passport delivery? Required Documentation: Aside from the passport, are there any additional documents my fiancé needs to include in the package when mailing it to the Ankara Embassy? Are there any specific forms, cover letters, or information that should be provided along with the passport? Packaging Recommendations: Considering the sensitivity of the documents, what packaging recommendations or precautions should we take to ensure the safety and security of my fiancé's passport during transit? Are there any specific instructions or guidelines provided by the Ankara Embassy for packaging? Tracking and Insurance: Should my fiancé opt for tracking and insurance services when shipping her passport? If so, which options should she choose? Will she be able to track the shipment throughout its journey? Expected Processing Time: Based on your experience, what is the average processing time for the Ankara Embassy to receive and process the mailed passport? Were there any delays or complications encountered during this step? Communication with Ankara Embassy: How did you or your fiancé establish communication with the Ankara Embassy during the process? Were they responsive to queries or concerns? Were any specific contact details provided for inquiries related to mailed passports? We would greatly appreciate any additional advice, tips, or personal experiences you can share regarding mailing passports from Iran to the Ankara Embassy. We understand that each situation may vary, but your insights will certainly help us navigate this process with more confidence and peace of mind. Thank you so much for your time and support. We look forward to hearing from you and benefiting from your expertise! Best regards, Inveigh

Let me be the first to say "'I get it", we filed a WOM early. I spent an entire month speaking to dozens of several legal firms to ensure the information I had presented to them at the time (i.e. Life Circumstances, Medical Conditions, Reasons for her Denial, Criminal History, Previous Approved Expedites, Trade-Off for Time v. Money, Work History, Job Impact) was worth it and all insisted I had a case on my hands. I would not have done so if the situation was otherwise. I wish we could go into detail as to the specific factors relied in us filing, but ultimately the amount of information we gave and had received and the cost risk value to hire an attorney was in our ballpark to do so-- and not negatively looked down upon by legal experts. So we paid the fee. Cost was about $4000.00 Taking the risk of waiting potentially another 6 months and beyond would severely impact our life plans (unfortunately) so ultimately the choice was a no brainer. I'm not going to pretend I am a savant in all things WoM, however, I want to recommend people research online communities as well as consulting legal firms to see what other people who have gone through this process have to say that made it to the other side successfully. Some people are in a good situation to spend the money. Others are not so fortunate. It all depends on where you want to be in life and what situations you're going through that determines if a respectable law firm will represent you or not and the decision you ultimately decide to make. I understand I am just an anonymous VJ member on this forum and you probably will never be able to understand my story fully as there is alot i cant speak on but I hope that all who read this topic in the future, retain the importance of doing thorough, thorough, thorough research before considering to file a WoM. And to ensure you know of a firm that handles these cases appropriately. Thats a big takeaway, I will keep you all in the loop as to what is going on. But for now this is my case update. I hope this message doesn't come off too contrived as I already am aware the controversial decision filing early was. But there isnt much information on WoM's so heres mine.

Greetings all, My fiance was given a 221(G) due to one job (unpaid volunteer) that we did not list during our DS160 during her interview so we were refused and put into AP. We were given a Green slip and also given a DS-5535 which we submitted the next day. She has one sibling who is underage that does not have an ethnic name and neither does she for someone living in Iran that we believed triggered anything (that was a required question to fill out as long as coutries traveled [only one]). However, these have been our last status updates as of recently --- Case Last Updated Dates: 08MAY2023 - Interview Date - Ready 09MAY2023 - Refused 221(G) - Documents not Submitted 10MAY2023 - Refused 221(G) - Documents Submitted 11MAY2023 - Refused 221(G) - No Action on our Behalf 22MAY2023 - Refused 221(G) - No Action on our Behalf 24MAY2023 - Refused 221(G) - No Action on our Behalf Case Status: Processing Pending Website Updated: 24 May 2023 Special Notes: Update email was sent to the principal applicant on 8 May 2023. ----- Is it irregular to have this many constant updates this early or does this signify good progress? Please feel free to share information or similar stories. Thank you
