  1. If I’m remembering correctly, the 130/130A asks if you’ve every been denied a US visa (double check on that, as I filled ours out over a year ago now). If that is asked…Did you answer truthfully and state you have been denied a tourist visa in the past? If you failed to disclose, that would likely give you an issue, strictly due to lying.
  2. Choose the answer that applies to your situation. Obviously it’s not a lottery, you’re not a returning resident (I’m assuming), and you said it’s not a K. There are only two other choices…and you said you received a letter and have an interview date for cr1 set already.
  3. Why don’t you just follow the instructions on there? It seems pretty clear.
  4. You probably won’t even have to wait this long for case creation. My 130 was just approved end of June and NVC welcome letter was emailed in 5 days.
  5. Oh wow that’s actually correct!? When I looked at that I didn’t believe it could be that quick!
  6. When did you submit your AOS/260? We are just finishing up and getting ready to submit, so curious to get an idea as to how long we will be waiting for DQ.
  7. A. Definitely! B. You need to determine which 864 form to use. I haven’t seen previous post/comments, so not sure which boat you’re in. It will depend on how many people you’re sponsoring, what you’re using to prove you can sponsor the immigrant (self employment, W2 employment, assets, etc), and whether you have a co-sponsor. I was able to use 864EZ because I earn enough income myself to use solely to meet guidelines for our household size and am only sponsoring one immigrant. The 864 instructions will breakdown all the details.

Hey cammar. Have you had your approval yet? Ours just came through a couple weeks ago.

  9. Your first email from NVC was not the “notice of visa case creation” email? This was the first email I received from NVC (last week) and it had my case and invoice numbers right in there (NVC sent this to me just a few days after USCIS approval). You then have to log in to pay. Until you do, you won’t be able to fill out the apps or submit documents.
  10. I know you need your police cert for the medical exam —I believe there is one other portion you need to submit, but not entirely sure when. We ordered two, just in case (for the UK it was only an extra £6, so figured might as well!). We just got our petition approved a few days ago, so still learning about this stage. We ordered our ACRO around early May so we could have it ready to go for NVC. I was expecting it to take a lot longer than it did, but it was only a couple weeks (and that was when they were doing the applications via email due to the security breach).
  11. Thanks so much for the heads up, too! Going to start working on that now.
  12. Thanks so much! I hope others start following with approvals. It seems like I keep hearing of people finding this in their documents tabs on Saturdays lately. How long does it usually take to get the welcome email? I checked on NVC and the range is sort of broad. When I was looking yesterday, it said something along the lines of they are currently working on ones from June 05-23. Lol so it sounds like it could either take 2 days or 22 days.
  13. We got our approval today!! Same thing others have said —we only got notification that an action was taking, but it just was for a second active review. When I checked the documents section, there was the approval notice! NOA1=07/20/22 Approval= 06/24/23
  14. I find Jim Hacking to be super helpful. He does Lives on YouTube almost every day and you can ask him questions (for free). His team also practices around the country. He will openly tell you pricing on the Live, too.
  15. Congrats! Seeing some approvals coming through for us in July is getting me all pumped lol 😂. I’m just hoping for an approval sometime soon!
  16. You need way too much reassurance. You were already given the advice to resubmit 260.
  17. Do yourself a favor and provide proof of address. It’s a simple thing to do and not worth a potential delay. We just did ours about one month ago and I remember seeing it on the paperwork or email somewhere about providing proof, and then couldn’t find it again..and then my husband pointed it out. Just can’t recall where it was now. Like someone else said, it wasn’t explicit, but it was implied. Who knows they may have changed since then, but it’s not really worth the risk when all you need to do is include a bank statement or a bill.
  18. It’s generic based on your NOA1 date. I too have that same message (July 20 Noa1). I think it’s probably safe to assume that everyone who filed around that time is receiving the same message. That processing time section just adds another layer of anxiety. Best to ignore it.
  19. Stop using turbo tax, there is other software out there. Everyone could avoid all these tax issues by using different software that allows you to file MFS without spouses SSN/ITIN. I’ve posted this before, but I use OLT and TaxAct— my husband does not have ITIN or SSN and I file MFS.
  20. Your best bet is to use a digital copy or reduce resolution. It sounds like you using a photo/scan of a paper tax return, rather than just a digital copy. My return is only 105 kb as a digital copy. But if I were to scan it, it would be way larger.
  21. We did our Acro while the site has been offline —Submitted May 9, received the certificate on May 24. edit: just to give details on my husband’s background, as I’m sure that factors in on speed of completion: he has no criminal history, has only lived in England, and served in the military
  22. My case did the same exact things. Back in April, it changed from 5 week, up to 3 months (because USCIS had changed their calculation process) I also checked yesterday and mine now says that “taking longer than expected…” message. NOA1=07/20/2022
