    We received all of the NVC info via email about a week after approval.

    Get a letter from your GP clarifying things like that. My husband went to his medical and didn’t have a letter with explanations, so he had to have the doctor send one. So I’d try to save yourself some time and just have that for your appointment.

    They did not ask to see any proof of relationship paperwork for our interview. They didn’t even ask for any of the NVC paperwork. I think the only things they wanted were IDs (maybe marriage cert). I’d bring some new proof just in case, though. As well as acro and marriage cert and NVC print offs.

    When you fill out the 130 online there is a section to upload 130a. It is very clear so you won’t be able to miss it

    You created an account on USCIS in order to submit your petition online. Sign in there and you will see how to upload evidence.

    My husband went into admin, then it was issued about a week later. He never received any tracking information or notification that the passport was being sent. This was through London Embassy.

    My husband got here on Dec 12 and his coverage begins through the exchange on Jan 1. Since it isn’t a long wait, we didn’t think it necessary to bother trying to find something for that two week period. But I’m sure if you search for short term insurance in the US though something extravagantly priced will pop up!

    It sounds like you may have checked the wrong box (as filing within the US) when petitioning the I-130. Within the US is field office, outside of US it should be at a service center. I believe when this mistake is made you need to pretty much restart the process.

    He would need to be in the US to join your bank account. My husband did so at our bank before having a SSN. I added my husband as a user in my credit card -again it depends on the credit card. We made Wills, Power of Attorney, got life insurance, made each other beneficiaries on each others 401k/pensions. There are lots of things to do—pretty much normal husband/wife stuff you would do regardless.

    Wow you’re still waiting?! I’m sorry that sucks. My husband finally made his way over and living with me in the US now permanently since last week. We got NOA2 in June, interview in Oct.

    The average person in the UK doesn’t even make that salary. I was quite disgusted when I read about this originally and seems like a very unfair jump. not to mention they won’t bother to try to reduce immigration where the UK sees tons of influx. Rather, they try to stop families from being together legally.

    They won’t give you an issue about that. Residents have a right to leave when they want, as long as they’re fulfilling residency requirements it’s fine. We bought a round trip ticket for my husbands IR-1 entry solely because it was about $100 cheaper than a one-way.

    You will be fine signing electronically. We didn’t print and sign ours, just signed electronically like you mentioned..I actually did it with my finger, not even a stylus, with adobe sign …we didn’t have any problems and it was accepted on the first submittal. DQ back in end of August this year, visa issued last month.

    Very normal. My husband was at one window about 5 min providing paperwork..with the officer who was making the decision for 5 min. It’s very anticlimactic My husband wore jeans, a polo shirt, and sneakers.

    Vaccines was our hold up. My husband brought the list of required vax to his GP…the GP gave him some that he needed. When he went to the medical he was still missing 2: hepatitis and I can’t remember the other. Then he had to go pay for the vaccines and the nurse who could give the hepatitis was not available for 2 weeks. It still only held up our approval by 2 days after the interview, though.

    Ours 2 weeks. DQ was at end of August this year.

    My husband visited many times on us ESTA while our i-130 was in process. He was never questioned about it but always came prepared to show he had ties to his home country. It’s up to the boarder officer each time though. It wouldn’t affect the immigration process at all, unless you were denied entry( which you would just need a waiver for anyway if it came to that). But if it sounds like they are going to deny entry you can ask to withdraw your request to enter the country.

    My husbands medical printout was like an entire history report too…tons of pages. You have to call visa medicals ahead of time to let them know if it’s more than a certain number of pages so they can make extra time to review. He didn’t have any issues with his.

    Can the card be ordered as soon as one month before arrival?

    I’d try to get the medical sooner, if you can. My husband had his 3.5 weeks beforehand but had to get a vaccine that was missed..got that vaccine almost 2 weeks before the interview and the paperwork hadn’t arrived to the embassy yet. It wasn’t bad though, it only ended up being a few days of administrative processing before approving. But it just would’ve been nice to get that approval same day.
