I don't know for sure about primary vs. secondary card holder transfers, but I think you should give that Global Transfer link a try, the worst would happen is they say they can't, but you won't know for sure until then

Re: Credit cards, One option is to use AmEx Global Transfer, assuming you have an AmEx card in Canada with decent credit limit and history. https://www.americanexpress.com/global-card-transfers/united-states.html I did it the other way around when I first moved from US to Canada 5 years ago, they gave me a pretty decent credit limit. If you don't have an AmEx in Canada already, I don't think this would make sense, since you'd basically be transferring a blank Canadian history to US, and that doesn't help. Another would be Discover It card, they have rotating 5% cash back categories quarterly, and approve people with no history (they did me when I first applied as an 18 years old international student, hopefully things haven't changed), you might have to start with $2000 credit limit or something. I am sure considering you'd have a job and some savings, it shouldn't be a problem. Here is a referral link if you do want to get it, we both get 100 bucks lol. https://refer.discover.com/s/CHI40 Re: Banking I'd honestly get Chase, largest bank in the world, branches everywhere, and some really good (and free) products if you have Direct Deposits going in to the checking account and/or maintain a minimum. They are kinda similar to RBC, relationship based, and once you have been with them for a bit, they start sending you offers for credit products etc. And if you do end up opening a checking account with them, you can ask at the branch if they'd do a low limit card for you, I know they WILL do a secured card (against some CD) at the very least. And just use Wise for money exchange and transfer, way cheaper and easier, especially if you deal in EUR, CAD, USD etc. Canadian banks are evil with their exchange rates and cross border fees etc. lol

It's quite possible that they are alternating DV and EB a bit

My case now show a last updated date of 6/28 (after the presumed medical results update on 6/21), maybe they request background check on people before the interview, so that they don't have to admin process so many people and create delays?
-
Well, don't tell the CRA I guess lolol
-
I haven't had my interview yet, so don't know for sure - but I thought the immigrant packet now is electronic? Did they give you a physical envelope? They just don't produce the Green Card until you pay the fee I believe, so you can land without paying. But this is indeed a strange situation...
-
Very sorry to hear about the confusion... But this seems to be one of those very niche thing that you might have to consult a lawyer for unfortunately... Did they cancel your previous visas and stamp your Immigrant Visa? If they stamped your IV, at least you can travel freely to the US as an LPR...
-
At least it's an American ally lol!
-
That seems to be very frequent... What's your country of chargeability?
-
My "Case Last Updated" shows 6/21 now, it must be the medical results being recorded.
-
I did mine with Dr. Lyndon. His office called me yesterday and told me they have gotten all the results back, and was assembling the report. It would be sent via eMedical and I would be getting a confirmation email this morning. I got the email this morning, with the vaccine record and medical info sheet from eMedical as attachments. I checked CEAC, it was still the old last updated date, I assume it'd be updated sometime this week or early next week.
-
They are probably sandbagging, I'd honestly go with our G Drive Spreadsheet.
-
Just checked my CEAC status, it says "Ready" now, with a last update on 5/30. So I suppose the case file is at MTL now.

July interviews were scheduled on 5/18, so I guess for August interviews would be end of June-ish. It's usually end of the month or beginning of the month, but Montreal has been a bit sporadical...
-
Don't make major life decisions based on what some random guy said on the internet obviously, but if you have an H1-b, nothing is on the verge of expiring and can afford to wait (no plans to change jobs etc.), Montreal might be the easiest and cheapest way to get a GC.
-
I think Monash has unfortunately be caught in retrogression... What's your Priority Date?
-
that's really odd... Did you inquire or change something in Sept last year? You might be up for the August or October interview rounds though, given the DQ date movement from this round of ILs. They cleared to Feb 2022 seems like!
-
@KO7 Did you get an IL this round?
-
I think you might be the next batch. Here is the link to the file, you can request access and add yourself. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14yZKxht6igwJPXPU0EehKmmN2hx1g3EchEuB5G0yNO4/edit#gid=0

In the strangest twist of fate - I instructed my lawyers to submit a change of venue request from Montreal to Guangzhou (5/19), just got the IL overnight, dated 5/19, for 7/26.... Now I guess I should probably cancel that change of venue request lol. I guess they are waiting for this VB to come out and see if the EB2 numbers have stabilized, which looks like it did, before they schedule any interviews for EB2s.
-
Thanks! This is corresponding well with folks in our tracking sheet getting interviewed/approved!
-
Damn, to say you are PREPARED is an understatement lol
-
The line you are standing in is shorter than it was a year ago, so you will get into the store faster
-
@Coco_2023 I'd say the absolutely soonest you will get an IL will be after the start of the new fiscal year which is in October, more than likely early 2024 if you just got DQ'ed. Luckily, you won't have to wait 2+ years like some of the folks on the forum have.

To whomever owns the tracking spread sheet, can you go in again and restore it to a previous version, and maybe lock the editing privilege? It's all screwed up again.......
