  1. Thank you for responding, my husband said the guy in the group filed one day prior to us which was May 22nd and we filed May 23 and his check was returned. I listened to the recording as he had USCIS on speaker..very odd perhaps they got lucky in their state
  2. It is after hours we are seeing this and plan to follow up with USCIS on Monday but is every state different with filling procedures?? My husband and I sent in $1440 as he saw online that when you file for adjustment of status you do not need to pay for the I-765 work authorization. He is also in a Whatsapp group with others who are in the process and one guy sent money for both but had one check sent back (work authorization check $260) and he was confused and when he called they confirmed (he recorded them) saying it was not needed as the $1440 covers both. So why now my husband has a rejection notice for work authorization saying payment incorrect..
  3. I will more than likely make the trip before the interview date. Thank you for the advice
  4. I appreciate the feedback and understand both sides. We are on the phone 24/7 to where all of our calls say 10-20 hours (on a call now as he is sleeping and never missed a night this past year) and video calls/movie nights are usually on the weekends due to time difference. If his interview date is too far out I will try my best to save up and go out there. It is not a cheap local flight so I hate that it can possibly be a factor when not everyone has travel money like that. He knows me better than I know myself and helped me with so many life skills that we have evidence to show. I can go on and on but thank you again!
  5. Thank you for that information. So in our case what do you suggest we do to assure we get approved?
  6. Yes Nigeria, we originally did have a plan for me to take a vacation from work to go there to be with him for a couple weeks before his visa interview however, I was let go from my company in June because they downsized so that ruined things. Now I am starting a new job this Monday in which I won’t be able to go anymore or even meet half way because I won’t be able to take any vacation until 6 months due to work probation
  7. Thank you for the advice. Trust it has been very hard to go that long without seeing each other however I have a lot of anxiety around flying far alone and working hard to get my money up to get us a place so money is tight. I will discuss with him and see what we will do about that especially since it is only strongly suggested.
  8. We just got approved a couple days ago, haven’t seen him since 2021 because I couldn’t get back out there to his country..too expensive and went job to job
  9. Since it is a tedious task I want to know if we are doing too much or just enough. For proof of on going relationship from the time we filed to present we have been taking the past few days to screenshot convos in text, call log and every single social media interaction etc from the past year making it that we have a bit over 100 screenshots for each platform since we are going month by month of the last 12 months. My plan is to of course combine into a collage but I feel like we are over doing it. Can I get an example of what would be enough if so, I could not find any videos on youtube for this part of the process. Our friend who got approved last year showed on video briefly that they had 70 pages that he took to his interview with him.
  10. Okay that isn't bad, enough time to gather from my new job. Thank you!
  11. Thank you Mike, that gives better detail! But whoa several months!? I was thinking one or two
  12. Hello all, It is nice to see light at the end of the tunnel, our estimated approval is within the next two weeks however my job downsized in June and had to let me go. I have been out of a job since then collecting unemployment (talk about worst timing). I tried my best for a month to find a new job but no luck so last resort, I thankfully was able to reach out to an old job that is willing to take me back so I start next week! The pay is low and it is very temporary, I am even speaking with another company this week that may hire me however, I will inform them how important and fast i'd need to be hired if I go with them instead. In saying all of that, I am just trying to get prepared so taking a look at the checklist of things that need to be gathered such as proof of income/employment it list last 2 check stubs and W-2s from that current job. I won't have a W-2 from a new job to show them. Do I show them an old one? will this hurt my chances? And as for last 2 check stubs, do I have to wait until I have 2 check stubs to show? I get unemployment checks now and I have a good amount in savings.
  13. Yes thank you I did receive the receipt and aware of the wait time however I thought while you wait they contact you for additional information
  14. Thank you, yes I am aware of the current wait time now. It seems my friend made it seem like during the long waiting process they'll contact you to complete other documents but now I understand it would all be done closer to approval.
  15. I understand there is no exact timeline or date however I am curious how long after your application has been received will you hear about next steps of what is needed? Currently 4 months in waiting to hear something and my friend who did this a couple years ago (I know it may have been a bit faster then) said we should've heard something by now.
