  1. Joining the May filers- I'm preparing to apply next week! Old-school by mail😉
  2. I did all printouts in black, too.As long as they're not blurry it is perfectly fine 👌
  3. I make copies at home....and to get several birth certificates, of course I paid for that- that's normal- everywhere, in every country. Noone asked us immigrants to get here- we chose to move to the US. You want something from this country, not the other way around- so you ( in general, every immigrant) need to 1) do your homework BEFORE you get here ,2)need to adapt and 3) yes, pay for the service you need to use in order to be granted any type of visa. That's how it works, in any developed country. No country rolls out the red carpet for you, bringing a marching band and x amount of $ as welcome bonus for you 🤣🤣🤣
  4. What information to be verified by online databases? That can be accessed/hacked by everyone?you don't pay fees , just so they print papers......I'm sorry, but what you say in your posts is pretty much baseless
  5. If it is so bad here, like you say......makes me wonder, why you chose to get here....🤔
  6. There are immigrants in congress, they know and they care - but like others already said: they can't agree on something enough, to get the necessary votes to make changes in laws.unfortunately. But , to give the current administration credit, they changed already several things- sign up for uscis news/ changes or go on their homepage every once in a while😉
  7. You pay for a complex paperwork that more than 1 person is working on and takes a lot of time. It's not like you're applying for a library card - it is so much more and those are well trained people who need to apply all legal rules, laws and so on. Plus, the us is a really huge country with a gazillion of applications- it sucks for everyone going through the process - but it takes time 🤷‍♀️
  8. True. like I said, I was talking about a traffic stop- not actual border protection stop😉
  9. Depends on the state you're living in, too: in California the officer isn't allowed to ask for your immigration status during a traffic stop.
  10. I bought my car brand-new at the dealership, wrote a check. But because I didn't have insurance we bought the car in both names ( me & my wife) cause she had insurance. No ssn needed
  11. Nope, nothing changed- still saying fingerprints received/ re-used🤷‍♀️🙄
  12. You haven't gotten the 48 months extension yet, right? Might be that!
  13. We all are, and we all did go/ are still going through that process. But implying something about uscis not doing their job and instead " dealing " with illegal aliens without providing any substance is just baseless in my opinion. BTW, uscis is part of/ a branch of homeland security- guess who's in charge of dealing with " illegal aliens " as you call them?😉
  14. Well, kinda.....I got here on Esta , had a ticket to return to Germany....but never did, cause of a medical emergency of my spouse. So I just stayed and when she was ok , we got married and I did AOS- the overstay of my tourist visa was not an issue, uscis didn't even ask about it. This is just the short version😉
  15. Just try and ask- it might be different depending on the state, county or even city😉 good luck for your journey!🍀
  16. Just from my own experience: volunteering CAN get difficult if they have it mandatory to provide us id/ drivers license and/ or social security number - i had that issue and ended up not being able to volunteer at the places I wanted to🤷‍♀️
  17. So, I got my 48 month extension letter today, too . Was expected 😉
  18. Yeah, but it still....sucks 🥴 but with those never-ending extension letters, who knows🤷‍♀️
  19. Godverdomme 🤐🙄 Are you going to apply for N-400?
