  1. To clarify once more, I didn't say I received an RFE or anything during my interview. My interviewer clearly said, if I didn't have my medical information, she could not take a final decision today and gave us a letter confirming we showed up to the interview. That letter didn't have next steps. In fact, it said that I showed up and my application is still being reviewed. The following day, we received an update that our marriage petition was approved so part 1 of 2 were approved and that was the part NOT dependent on I693. It doesn't take much to deduce what I've known since applying -- which is that the only outstanding piece to finalize my application is a sealed I693. My post is about HOW to proceed NOW that I'm almost done my medical - I'm going to pick up my sealed envelope this week. Some posts suggests waiting for an RFE - which now that it's been a month, I was questioning if it was the best approach.
  2. I was thinking something along those lines or submitting a request as well. Totally agree that it's risky to submit sealed evidence unsolicited. I think I'll try that approach and see if it nets out a response or outreach from their end. Thank you!
  3. Not really sure where I inferred that I received an RFE or any documentation during or after my interview so I'm confused by your response. My interview went well and my I130 (marriage petition) was approved the following day. The interviewer said they couldn't make a final decision on my case re: i485 due to my missing medical which I was aware of going into the interview. My question then is what are my next steps knowing that they can't finalize my case without my medical information and I don't have an RFE or official request from their end for that medical information. Do I reach out? I'm not going to send in my medical information without a formal request because I understand the risks of it getting lost/misplaced. I'm inquiring about anyone who might have some helpful next steps to suggest.
  4. Noted! I guess I'm more so wondering if I should wait for the RFE or if there's anything I should/do to accelerate this step since it's been a month from the interview and the I693 is the only remaining piece to completing the permanent residence process.
  5. Sorry, I might be in the wrong forum then. I'm not a K1 - I started my application in the US, while living here.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm living in the US and married to a US citizen and applied for a marriage petition (I130) and permanent residency (I485) in April 2022. My work authorization was approved last year and we received notice of our interview a week before the interview date. We went to the interview a month ago and it went well, my I130 was approved right away however since I didn't have my medical (I693) complete, they couldn't finalize my application. I'm in the process of finishing my medical on my end however I was under the impression that I should be waiting for an official RFE prior to submitting any additional information on my case. I received a courtesy notice letter for my I693 last year but was pregnant then and couldn't do some of the required immunizations but never received an RFE for it. Once I'm done my medical - which I'm expecting should be done in the next week, should I submit it (my I693) or wait for an RFE? To date, my file still says "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS - nothing is outstanding at this time". I know I dropped the ball by not having my I693 in time for the interview, I was thinking I'd get at least 2-3 weeks notice before the interview date. I just don't want to wait in limbo and not sure what the next steps are. Thanks!
