  1. Hey guys, just wanted to give my two cents here for those who are uncertain if they should switch from F2B to F1. I had been DQ'd for a year when I noticed that F1 was having "a lot" more interviews (about 11) scheduled than F2B (about 3, however some months would go with one or no interview at all). I inquired with my attorney's office if I should switch to F1 since there were more interviews being scheduled. They weren't really helpful, couldn't tell me if it made sense at that point or not but stated that they would make the switch if I wanted to. At that point I thought it couldn't be much worse than what was going on with F2B, so I asked them to make the switch. Thankfully, two months later my interview was scheduled and it's been almost a year since I came back to the US as a resident. I don't know for a fact if that was the game changer to having the interview scheduled but I was pretty happy and had the feeling that it did help.
  2. PD 09/2014, DQ 04/2022 Rio de Janeiro. Does it make sense to opt-in to F1 after my mother’s naturalization or should I opt-out and stay in F2B? Does it make any difference in terms of having the interview scheduled at this point if I’m in either category since they’re both current?
