I have send my marriage certificate to the funeral home but they said they need the permission of my stepdaughter who is the informant in order for them to change it because of conflict of interest. And my stepdaughter not ready to give her permission. What can I do? Is it advisable to submit it the way it is to the Lagos embassy?

After calling the funeral home in the city my wife was buried. I was told the informant gave them the information that my wife marital status is divorced, Of which we are not divorced. So on the death certificate the marital status shows divorced. Please is this going to affect me anyway? The consular officer requested i send the original to the embassy after my interview. The funeral home said if I want to change that, I should get the assistance from my stepdaughter who is the informant that gave the wrong details about her martial status. I then called my stepdaughter to assist and then give her permission to the funeral home to change it, she is not willing to do that. I ask her why did she gave that wrong information, she said the marriage with me and my wife is done in Nigeria and is different from USA marriage. I told her that she is wrong and our marriage is legally binded anywhere in the world. Please what can I do? And will the marital status showing divorced affect me anyway. If I decide to submit it like that at the embassy? through DHL.
