@idkera When my priority date became current in the Final Action Date chart in September 2020,, I had the option to go with DOS (NVC) or with USICS (I-485 route). Based on the historical data and the significant backlog with USCIS GC processing in Sep/Oct 2020 (to obtain I-485 filing receipt number was taking 6-8 months and millions of ppl were in line for biometrics etc..), I opted to go with NVC route. But USCIS somewhat streamlined their process to reduce backlog down the line but not the case with NVC and my decision was really backfired. Had I gone with with USICS option, I would have got my greencard in April/May 2021 and without leaving US. Anyways I have my interview scheduled next month with Monteral Consulate. Atleast had my interview done by December 2021 with Montreal Consulate, I would have not extended my TN. My TN expired on 13th Jan 2023 so went to Alberta and extended my TN in the first week of Jan 2023. I didn't quite expect that I have to go for another TN extension and was hoping to get my greencard before my TN expiration but that was not the case. By and large, when it comes to US immigration, based on my experience, its all boils down to ones luck. Its not good or bad decision. If time and tide is in your favor, things will pan out in-line with your expectation otherwise it will go south you have to learn to sail with it. Hope this helps!

@farzady Did you get confirmation from Dr. Lyndon's office that your results were sent to US Consulate?
-
Thanks!

@farzady Did you do X-ray as part of your immigration medical with Dr.Lyndon office? if so, Is it that the lab is located in a different location (Lifelabs at St.Clair)?
-
Understood. Thanks for the details. I am in a fix which one to go with now. I have to fly out of US to get this done and I get the same kind of feedback from others with ones in Vaughan and Scarborough as well.

May I know the reason for it? Are they not reachable/accessible? Do you think they won't upload your medical exam results in US portal before the interview?

As far as my knowledge goes, No panel physician in the US for EB immigration visa processed through NVC.

@farzadyThank you for sharing . I booked it with health1medicals in Vaughan, Ontario after seeing your comment. I live in the US so not sure which one is good. Question: Hepatitis B and Tetanus (TD) Vaccines - Did you take the complete series of these two vaccines and submitted proof at the time of your immigration medical or Just the first one of the series will do for immigration? Thanks!

@farzadyMay I know where did you do your medicals?

@3LabMom I registered with separate profiles for me and my wife. After completing registration, I have observed all applicant details being returned at the very end in the instructions page. Looks to me all can be grouped under one profile since each individual applicant info being returned once the registration is complete.
-
Thank you @kachab.. No problem. Will register with two separate profiles to avoid any issues.

@kachab I received IL. I was trying to set-up appt with Courier service for passport collection (for both - myself & my wife) with post office in Montreal but could see a form where it allows me to enter only my name in 'Care Of' field and do not see another form coming up where I can key-in my wife details. Do I have to register appt with Courier service with two different profile/logins for me and my wife? I added my wife as an another (using add applicant option) applicant under my profile at the time of registration and could see both our names listed with all applicable details as two separate applicants but in the page where I need to enter 'Care Of' with US address , Could key-in only my name or my wife's name to complete registration not both. Please clarify when you could see this msg. Also anyone in this forum if could think you have some info in the above regard, please let me know. Thank you!

@Surulere Yes, I received IL.
-
@F2J_March Thanks! Until the IL is received, Nothing is guaranteed with NVC.
-
@farzady My NVC status stays the same 'At NVC' @ACC24 DQed on 28th October 2020
-
Submitted inquiry with NVC last week and response from NVC today states that my interview is scheduled for 24th Feb at 9:15 and will receive IL shortly..

Thank you @kachab. Fingers Crossed!

Thank you @kachab for the confirmation. May I know when did your interview happen? Pre or Post Pandemic?
-
Thank you @kachab. This immensely helps. Regardless you live in Canada or not, Hope you can pick post office as option to collect your passport. Your response answer that part as you picked-up your passport with US NY DL but just want to make sure.
-
@kachabThanks! Can I give the hotel address in Montreal for passport pick-up? Or Will they mail out the passport to nearby post office? Hope no option for in-person and/or same day pick-up at the consulate.
-
Thank you @kachab. Noted your details. May I know how long it takes to get the passport back after the interview date? I guess it's subjective and varies from case to case but If I know the normal processing time would help!
-
@Leeching Spouse Thank you for your response. I do not have nexus. Is it safe to presume that I have to extend my stay in Montreal until I get my passport from Consulate? In that case, I have to book one way to ticket to Montreal.

Hi, I am currently working in the US on TN visa and am DQed in October 2020. I was hoping to get IL from NVC/Montreal Consulate atleast by March/April 2023 (Fingers crossed but not sure by looking at the inconsistent way of sending out ILs by NVC and the way priority given to EB folks by Montreal consulate.). Question: For interview, I will be flying out of US and will be staying in Montreal until my IV gets done (with presumption all goes fine with no AP). Post interview, Do I have to extend my stay in Montreal until I collect my passport to get back to US Or Can Consulate mail my passport out to my US address? With latter, Just wondering about my entry into US with no passport in place. Any insight would be of immense help! Thanks in advance for your time and help!
