He lives in the middle of nowhere, Staples is not something that exists where he lives, and his phone is one of those "Jitterbug" flip phones. I know it may sound far fetched, but that is what I'm dealing with.

Our case was received by the NVC on May 10th. My wife properly filled out her DS-260 and I filled out my I864. However, because I rely on VA Disability payments and my GI Bill for income, I did not think that my lack of income would qualify me to be my wife's sole financial support, per the requirements. So, my mother opted to be a joint sponsor on the application. I requested all the required documents and sent them through. A couple of weeks later I got a response saying that some required documents (W'2s) were missing and some signatures had to be hand-written. Okay, my mistake. I corrected them and re-sent the documents a couple of weeks back. Now, here's where things have gotten a bit confusing for my spouse and me. A couple of days ago we received a notification from the NVC stating that all of our required documents had been received and that the NVC would work on scheduling a consulate date for my wife's interview. However, a follow-up email was sent saying that a required action was posed on our CEAC. Upon review, the NVC is now asking for my dad's ( Household member of my mom)information like his proof of citizenship, proof of domicile, and proof of his relationship with my mother. Mind you I already submitted his I-864a along with his tax forms etc. Nowhere on the NVC website or anywhere else for that matter does it state that these other documents were required of a household member, only the joint sponsor. To make matters worse, my dad is technologically illiterate and cannot provide the documents to me even if he wants to. Are these requirements that if they are not met, will hinder my wife's chances of getting an interview at the consulate? Why would the NVC send a confirmation that all required documents were received and approved just to add more to our CEAC? I'm confused and could really use some clarity on the matter. Contacting the NVC is futile as their phones have been down for over a year. We are stressing because as all of you are aware, considering that most on this forum have been our shoes before in one way or another, this has been a long process and just when there seems to be some light at the end of this long tunnel, the government seems to have the uncanny ability to throw another obstacle in our face.
