  1. Thank you so much for the quick reply! We may do it that way then, unless the ticket prices miraculously end up going down once the visa arrives.
  2. Hello, We just got our IR-1 visa approved on December 12th, 2023!! We are now waiting for the visa to arrive and plan on booking the flight ticket once it arrives. I was wondering when booking flight tickets if I need to book a one-way ticket for my spouse or if it is okay to book a round-trip ticket and then cancel the return flight upon arrival to the US? I am asking because the one-way tickets seem to be way more expensive (twice as much) than round-trip tickets. Has anyone else booked their flight to the US this way?
  3. Congratulations!!! It took us 3 weeks to get ours by email, this might also depend on the consulate. I hope you get your interview date soon!!
  4. We received our interview appointment date by email on November 6th, 2023. I was wondering if they also mail out a letter before the interview or if we need to print out the email that we received and bring that to the interview?
  5. Hey everyone, Here are some updates from our case: September 29th, 2023 : We submitted all of our documents to NVC through CEAC. October 6th, 2023 : We ended up having to resubmit one and we resubmitted it on this date. October 16th, 2023 : We got DQ!! November 6th, 2023 : Received our Interview Date by email! Does anyone know if they also mail out a letter before the interview or if we need to print out the email that we received and bring it to the interview?
  6. Hello, thank you for replying to my question. I did send an inquiry, they replied back to me with "The document you previously submitted is illegible or unacceptable per reciprocity. Please resubmit so NVC can review your case." And they said that "if you cannot submit a required document, you must send a detailed explanation through CEAC." My husband, the principle immigrant, does not reside in Bosnia currently, he only temporarily resided there during the time he went to University there. Is it possible that he does not need to provide that document that they are asking for because we asked the court and they said that the one they gave us is the only document he is allowed to get, since he is not a resident there anymore.
  7. Hello, My husband (beneficiary) went to University abroad in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so he was temporarily living there for some time. He had to obtain 2 Police Certificates, the one from the Ministry of Interior got accepted, but the other one from the Municipal Court (Opcinski Sud) got rejected. So I was wondering if there is anyone else that had to submit documents from Bosnia and Herzegovina and if you could give me the name of that second document that we need to obtain because it only says "Both the Policijsko Uvjerenje o nekaznjavanju and Opstinski Sud are required for immigrant visa purposes.". What is the name of the document required by the Municipal Court (Opcinski Sud)? And did you upload that second one under "Police Certificate" on the CEAC website? This is what it says is required from Bosnia and Herzegovina, they do not give the name for the document from the Municipal Court:
  8. Hello, We just got an update for one of our documents that it was rejected, I was wondering if you know the specific name for the document that we need to obtain. It says for Bosnia "Both the Policijsko Uvjerenje o nekaznjavanju and Opstinski Sud are required for immigrant visa purposes.", we submitted the Police Certificate "Policijsko Uvjerenje o nekaznjavanju" issued by the Ministry of Interior and that was accepted, but the other document that we also submitted under Police Certificate from the Minicipal Court (Opstinski Sud) was rejected. So I was wondering what second document you uploaded from the court if you know the name for it in Bosnian? Because apparently we did not receive the correct document from the Minicipal Court.
  9. Thank you so much for the quick reply! I will be sure to be precise with naming the translated documents! Did you have to include a proof of domicile, if so, did you include all of the supporting documents in one pdf file?
  10. For the NVC stage, I was wondering if we can combine the translated police certificate document with its original in one PDF document, or if we should upload the translated document separately and the original separately? Also for the proof of domicile, I wrote a letter that lists the steps I have taken to maintain my US domicile and included supporting documents for this. Is it okay to upload all of these supporting documents in the same PDF file under the proof of domicile letter or should I separate each supporting document on the list and upload each separately? I read about others getting RFE's for combining some of their financial documents, so I am wondering if this applies to the other documents that I have mentioned here?
  11. Thank you so much for the reply, I will do it like you mentioned.
  12. The barcode still isn't showing up when I print the form. I am using a Mac OS, so I'm not sure if that is the reason as to why it is not showing up. Maybe I don't have the correct Adobe Acrobat for my Operating System? My husband tried on his laptop which has Windows and it seems to show the barcode on his Adobe Acrobat. Btw if a question is Not Applicable to me, can I write "NA" instead of "N/A", for some reason it does not let me write symbols digitally in Adobe Acrobat on some questions. Or should I stick to handwriting "N/A"?
  13. Hi everyone, I am currently in the process of filling out the AOS Form I-864, and I was wondering if I can fill out some information on my computer and handwrite the rest of the fields that my laptop does not allow me to fill out digitally? Has anyone submitted their form where they filled out some fields digitally and some handwritten? Also, when I initially download the form the barcode is visible at the bottom of the pages, but when I open it in my Adobe Reader the barcode disappears (I did update my Adobe Reader and am still faced with this issue). I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their form and if they were able to solve the issue or is it okay to submit the form without the barcode at the bottom?
  14. Hello, I have a quick question regarding the joint sponsor. Since we will need a joint sponsor for our immigration case, does the joint sponsor need to provide their last 3 years of Tax Returns or do they need to provide their Tax Return Transcripts? Along with that do they need to provide the W2's and/or 1099's from those years? Would they also need to submit a letter of employment as well as paystubs of their current income? I have been researching this topic and I see everyone is submitting different documents when it comes to the joint sponsor, some more than others. So I am not sure how much we need to actually submit or if we should go ahead and submit everything that I listed above? Is there an actual list that says what the joint sponsor needs to provide?
  15. Update: We woke up to a welcome email from the NVC this morning (August 7th, 2023)!! They included our NVC case number and Invoice ID number in the email. I'm assuming that the welcome letter will also come by mail at some point during this process?
  16. Hello everyone, We have an update! We just got our I-130 approved on August 3rd, 2023!! We are still waiting for the approval letter to come in the mail though. Does anyone know when we should expect to receive the NVC welcome letter?
