    You don’t need a lawyer. This from someone who hired lawyer before stumbling upon this site, and for exact same reason: not to make mistake.I do understand that lawyers can be helpful but this whole notion that they are absolutely necessary is nonsense, and greed plain and simple.

    What state are you in? Here in New York we have few offices that process passports in 24hours. I managed to get my passport in a day. Also for my then seven year old, since she had a baby picture in her passport😁

    Another vote for spousal, and in your case zoom through Utah: You are the US citizen and you can use that option, no need to bother with Thailand as both of you being foreigners, also more simple than the Phillipines, since both of you are not there. So use the situation that you can already benefit from, no need for extra steps, expenses. Etc. You are together already so you can file I-130 right right after you get the certificate.The spousal will enable all the unlimited traveling and living abroad, basically your then wife will have the same status as you. Focus on a sponsor for the NVC stage, start now even if it will take a while, since you have been out of the country and confirm your residence etc.

    Our first active review was once the NOA1 was finally mailed. Second one came 11 and half months later.

    Fresh from the local DMV ( New York) GC being delivered via priority mail with my husband’s name and our address clearly stated, social security number as well, was not sufficient proof of address, but me, scribbling his name and mailing an empty envelope through regular mail is. Just in case someone is at this step.

    Spousal visa is far more superior, research it before you make a final decision. Also financial co-sponsor, start thinking and planning that out, either way you go. Best of luck

    DV is green card on the entrance, but it’s a lottery, so you have as much chance as the other guy. Spousal is also a green card on the entrance. K1: you wait as long as for the spousal but no green card on the entrance. The waiting game starts then. No freedom to work, travel etc. Separation from your significant other is a due process in all three situations. Maybe it makes more sense laid out like this.
