  1. This is interesting to me because I had assumed when putting the package together that phone records and texts were encouraged because they want to see how you talk to each other. I struggled to find many appropriate chats that seemed worth screenshotting but I got some of us planning vacations, flights etc - and screenshots of my call logs showing we call every day etc. I definitely regretted that I didn't keep my boarding passes when assembling the packet (some were destroyed, some were just digital passes on my phone that expired) and dind't have receipts of much. We submitted maybe 40-50 photos of us together which I wrote the date and a description on the back, I wanted to do this because the i-129f form asks you to list the times you've met in the last 2 years which I think was only once at the time, but we had actually met I think 4 times at this point in different cities / countries so I felt the photos were good evidence. I did submit my US passport stamps, we also met in Ireland but I didn't get a stamp for that (maybe because there's free travel between UK - Republic of Ireland or something I'm not sure).
  2. I was asked for the divorce certificate and I didn't have it so they rejected me and gave me a form 221(g) telling me to mail in the divorce certificate. So my partner obtained a new certified copy, sent it to me in the UK, I sent it to the embassy, but the day before it was delivered my visa was in the mail. They returned the certificate to me with a note that says "visa had already been sent out" so in my opinion they must have reviewed my case and discovered that we had submitted the divorce certificate in our original packet. I would advise you bring it though.
  3. I suspect (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the police certificate should be in the folder they give you to turn over to immigration when you enter the country. There's always the slim chance this can be lost though. I don't expect to need to use a police certificate in the AOS process (mine is currently pending) but I did spend an extra £6 to get an extra police certificate when I got it, just in case it proves useful in the future.
  4. I can't be 100% sure but I think I filled mine out after getting the NOA2 and before hearing anything from the London embassy to schedule an appointment.
  5. I personally did carefully remove the staple, and completely removed the I-485 (which had a wrong checkbox checked), then used paper fastners to fasten back the forms to how they originally were, printed a new i-485 and added that to the packet, destroyed the original cover letter and printed a new one because I wanted to amend it, assembled the packet with the green letter on the top then sent it back. This time they accepted it and sent a notice that they received it, hopefully it will be okay but I always expect to get RFE'd on something but I'll be happy if I don't.
  6. I thought of that but since there is already a scan of the i-94 in that portal submitting another one seems pointless. I'm not convinced they will RFE but we'll see.
  7. Mailed (Texas Lockbox): January 23rd Delivered: USPS Tracking says 26th January but the "Received Date" and "Priority Date" on the letter are both January 25th 🤷‍♂️ Notice Date: 01/27/2023 Biometrics appointment: 02/21/2023 I had originally sent my packet in at the end of December but they sent it back after 3 weeks. I had made a mistake on the I-485 so they rejected the packet. I fixed it and sent it back the same day, which also gave me the opportunity to include a copy of my wifes birth certificate which I'd forgotten to include in the original packet. I also filed the EAD but didn't bother with AP (Yes I know, I just don't plan to travel and don't want to take up their time processing something I won't use). Hoping it won't take too long to get approved and more importantly that there are no mistakes. I dread the idea of having to do another medical after reading stories of people being RFE'd that presumably because their files got lost. I also only included one copy of evidence to cover everything (for example one i-94 in the entire packet rather than one i-94 per form) and reading this thread makes it sound like that was possibly a mistake and they may RFE another one, we'll see.
  8. I think you can enter the US on a K1 visa without having fulfilled the vaccine requirements - however when you come to Adjust your Status after getting married you'll need all the required vaccines, otherwise USCIS will RFE you until you can provide them or deny you.
  9. I got the notice of action i-797C! Hooray! 🙂 I'm sure this is a stupid question but on the biometrics letter under what to bring it says: I take it a UK passport should be fine for this, and I don't need to quickly apply for a US ID card?
  10. Yeah that's my worry. USCIS rejecting because of an error I've made in the form is essentially the same as if I didn't file? I have to just wait 2-3 weeks now to see what happens and if they send it back again I'll have to seek legal advice I think.
  11. But if they just send the AOS back again and reject it a second time, by the time I've sent it off a third time (after correcting any further mistakes I find, possibly after having a lawyer look it over) I won't have a receipt before the i-94 expires (02/26/2023) - so could I get into trouble in this scenario?
  12. K1 expires Feb 26th, I filed AOS at the end of December and they sent it back rejected after 3 weeks. I noticed a mistake in the i-485 so printed a new one and filled it out (hopefully) correctly. I then sent it back off with the package they sent back to me, again, and they've received it. I hope they will give me a NOA number this time but if there's something else wrong and they reject it again and send it back after three weeks, I'll have to try again and maybe seek legal help. In this situation it seems unlikely that there would be any chance of getting an NOA number back from the AOS before the K1 expires, so I'm wondering what my status would be in that case? Could I be in any trouble?
  13. I've resubmitted it now. I hope that was the only problem. I did also forget to submit a copy of my wife's birth certificate that I'm sure they would RFE so it was at least an opportunity to add that to the packet. I have a feeling of looming dispair that it will be rejected again but I'll struggle to find out why as they don't provide much insight into what was wrong. If it's rejected again I may have to seek out a lawyer.
  14. Yes. I feel very stupid. I have looked through the I-485 and for part 2 question 2 I have selected "Immediate relative of a U.S. citizen, Form I-130" instead of "Person admitted to the United States as a fiancé(e) or child of a fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen, Form I-129F (K-1/K-2 Nonimmigrant)" How idiotic.
  15. Hi, today I received my packet back with a notice that it has been rejected. The text reads: I'm not entirely sure what they mean by "your priority date could not be established" but on the I-485 Section 2 Question 4 it asks: "Priority Date from Underlying Petition (if any)". I left this question blank. Should I populate it with the NOA1 or NOA2 date of the original K1 application? I did enter the receipt number in the question prior to that when asked, but I wasn't sure what Priority date meant. For the 'The following documents may be provided" that they list, they seem to talk of forms that don't relate to a K1 applicant. As for resubmitting, can I mail the package back to them as they have sent it? They have a big staple through everything related to the I-485, and then the EAD documents stapled seperately. They also stamped the check but I'm not sure if I need to send a new payment or not? They added a green paper rejection notice that says if I resubmit, to put the green paper on top of the package.
  16. I think I have made an error and not submitted my spouse (USC) birth certificate copy with the I-864. Damnit. I expect to receive an RFE for this.
  17. Forgot to add: With the biometrics will they contact me and give me a date/time/location for an appointment to attent?
  18. Hi all, I hope this is the right forum to post in. I entered on a K-1 and got married and have now filed an AOS + EAD based on this guide (extraordinarily helpful I must say) with a few extra bits of evidence around my partners finance such as W-2, etc that I've seen people say they get an RFE for. My question is, what happens next? I know processing times are long. But I'm not sure when I'm likely to hear anything from them to confirm they've received my packet? And is there a way I'll be able to track any progress made to my case? On a related note: I regularly see screenshots that show a timeline like I've linked at the bottom - I think this is people screenshotting their USCIS account, is there a way I'll be able to get my i-485 / i-765 added to my USCIS account to track the progress? I know that on the forms there was space for a USCIS number "(if any)" but while I have an account, I couldn't find a number and searching online led me to believe that to find your number you had to submit a form online, but I submitted via mail as all the guides I've seen seem to be based around that, and that's how we did the initial i-129f petition. reddit screenshot of somebodies uscis account:
