  1. N your response to the RFE, IDid you ask for extension of time stating delay was beyond your control? How/what did you write in response to RFE…? Am curious to see if they are now denying res quests for more time
  2. My silent cheering you on when you posted the cranky -only-one-on-duty CBP officer response was to tell you to wait for his shift to change and try again. But they have also hung up on passenger callers and you needed the support of the airline staff..so yes that was a small miracle in itself. Keep every bit of info you learned safely stored away and use when/if necessary ( LPR dates on card or told to 3rd party) Your armor is the resource/memo from @Mike E …though I love the beeline to kiosk suggesting, they may have alerted for a secondary inspection. Stay simple and focused on You never intended to abandoned Original departure was for short duration Difficult circumstances You will be fine..and remember they can either tell /threaten you w : will detain you or actually do it for a few hours /days. Keep your cool . You made it home!
  3. We have not heard of public charge bonds , since it’s they came into existence w the Trump Public Charge so 2019 . CDJ revoked I-601 A s by the truckload on public charge grounds and refused to hand out “ Invitations”. Like @Mike E points out…an Invitation may be as rare as a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket.
  4. 1. Call USCIS and ask for the status, you can say “ info pass “ to get a live agent 2 Make an infopass appointment and go to field office in person ( review reasons valid for infopass ) 3. Did attorney file an I-290 ( motion to re open/reconsider ? 4. File a FOIA ( online , it’s free) and get complete copy of your file/decision 5. Request a copy of your file from the attorney ( he cannot refuse , but will probably charge you $200 for copies) 6. Make a written offer of payments, if you can’t afford to settle his bill at once
  5. Contact Philippine Consulate nearest you. They have emergency services for situations like yours.. Very sorry for your loss. https://filipiknow.net/can-i-still-travel-with-an-expired-passport/ For emergency travel to the Philippines due to hospitalization/death in the family or any medical/legal emergency, a travel document may be issued instead of passport renewal (which takes longer to process
  6. Bravo! You fought hard and fate put a great human ( manager ) in your path. Hats off to @Mike E
  7. Well , OP, I am back to agreeing with you..Yes is the right answer. https://cliniclegal.org/resources/ground-inadmissibility-and-deportability/public-charge/public-charge-related-questions Question 61 asks whether the applicant is subject to the public charge ground of inadmissibility. The adjustment of status applicants who are exempted from the public charge ground of inadmissibility are listed in 8 CFR § 212.23(a). Question 62 asks for the size of the applicant’s household. The applicant must include himself or herself and the following persons if they are residing with the applicant:
  8. Very important that they do pay and submit DS-260 and rest . As @jan22 spelled out the path for you is to Wait /Recalculate when PD becomes current
  9. Well the fact that he was refused boarding with an expired green card an receipt of I-90 renewal and put at the mercy of capricious CBP interpretation of stated PUBLIC POLICY, I would say it’s the only way of tackling it in the most immediate way…
  10. https://fam.state.gov/fam/09fam/09fam030208.html
  11. I wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. New asylums are now “ handled” / decided within 12 months and majority are denied.
  12. No. You may use only one Joint Sponsor per immigrant. Does your current income ( pay check from current job ) qualify? If not , try getting a second job to strengthen your current income . Also look for another Joint Sponsor with qualifying income..especially since you have “ relied “ in some form for support from on your current household members, and that could be a negative. Because of the new Public Charge Rule , it will be a bit before we learn how tough Consulates will be . https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/i-864-affidavit-faqs.html
  13. You can try to see if US embassy in Korea will help …a boarding foil I-131 A would take a few days otherwise. https://kr.usembassy.gov/services/conserv-info/ https://www.uscis.gov/i-131a
  14. They all do , with good intentions. ..but AP and delays happen to many. ..outside that particular Officer’s control.
  15. Tough spot , she can’t leave without it cause she wouldn’t be allowed back in to get it a later date.
  16. Try this…and also send email to the consulate once the interview is scheduled. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/ceac-faqs.html#ceac16 On the case summary page’s status chart, there are two buttons under “Applicant Information.” To add or remove a family member from your case, click on the appropriate button. You will have to enter information about your family member, including name, address, email, and relationship to you. The new derivative visa applicant’ name will then appear on the list of applicants and you will have to pay the Immigrant Visa Fee, complete a Form DS-260 application
  17. OP, did you use up the 90 days as @Boiler indicates? My random source was unreliable.
  18. i was curious and used this site look it up .. https://visaguide.world/asia/saudi-arabia-visa/umrah-visa/ The Umrah visa is valid for two weeks. But, if you are performing Umrah during Ramadan, you must leave by the last day of the holy month regardless of whether you have stayed two weeks or not.
  19. Unusual choice to get an umrah visa with its very restrictive 2 week stay. If you email/call embassy I am sure they will give her back her passport in the next 10 days.. but if they keep her in AP it will not have her visa in it.
  20. Saudi visa extensions look pretty straightforward and online, have you tried? https://blog.wego.com/saudi-tourist-visa/ Visa extension can be done online by following these simple steps: Login to Absher platform. Select (Passport Services) from the list of e-services. (Choose the service (Visit Visa Extension. Enter the required information and attachments. Pay the fees of SAR 100. Submit your application.
  21. Well said @powerpuffI admit on first look , I was foxed and it took me scouring the policy manual , federal register and more just to get clarity. Would have preferred the simple old Trump era question , have you ever used public benefits ..followed by what type and then details on skills/resources… I think there will be a wave of filings with Yes and we will soon hear if they will issue RFE s or just deal with it at final adjudication. OP if you decide to change your response later on , after you get the Receipt Notice for I-485 , you can fiel an e-request for Typographical error.
  22. I need to correct my position. The answer is NO , you are not subject to the inadmissibility rule since you have not used any public benefits.
