    If they are both single and all their previous divorces are correctly process, then they should be able to apply for a fiancee visa for whom ever is the foreign resident which i guess is your father. As stated before here by someone else this is the place to get many answers so the process goes well.

    Well, my husband just received his 10 year green card yesterday, entry date October 9th 2023!! Yay!!

    I waited until our application was recevied at the NVC and then he went for his police report at his city which took about one hour. He scanned it to me and then when we have to upload documents I had it. In Indonesia it is not addressed to anyone in particular, it's a police report for that person.

    Yes, my husband K-1 Visa expired the next day after he arrived, due to Medical Delays and other issues his visa to come in to the USA was good for 10 days. In any case we got married 2 weeks after the visa expired and 3 months later I filed for AOS......

    I think the easiest is to just go into the IRS Website and download copies of your tax transcripts for the period you need to report. It takes a whole of 10 minutes to do.

    My spouse went to the K1 interview and the CR1 interview and I told him on both times if that subject came up to say he was not sure, in any case the question never came up in either interview.

    Health insurance is not mandatory for anyone in the US, however it is the smart thing to do to have health insurance.

    Well for financial reasons with the cost of a lawyer, we opted instead of using a company that helped us fill our all our forms and also reviewed them for accuracy as well as all the content to assure at least from the submission point of view all was ok. These companies are far cheaper than an attorney and I have seen reviews on them that are from the no good to the excellent. I can only speak to my experience with them for our K-1, Adjustment of Status and CR1. They did a great job on all three instances and I never received a ROE. You may want to look them over.

    If you are going to Vietnam to meet, then why not just get married when you are there and not have the addes uncertainty about the Utah marriage.

    When my fiancee went to the interview in Jakarta, it was requested in the list of things he needed to bring that he bring the original of my birth certificate. In the US Embassy in Jakarta web site there are a number of authorized translators that the embassy approves for English translation of documents. Not sure if your BC is in Bahasa or some other language.

    While I have read that the green card will arrive in 90 days after arrival in the USA, (given that the visa fee is paid,) is it that it will arrive around 90 days or can it arrive sooner. I was blown away when my husband SSN card arrived 12 days after he entered the US!

    The country where you reside it's totally irrelevant to that. My husband took the K1 Visa interview back in 2021 in Jakarta, Indonesia and was approved without issue and was able to travel to the US to get married, due to other matters had to return to Indonesia before receiving his green card, so I had to apply for a Spousal visa, which again was approved without issue and he is now here with me.

    Good morning experts. So, my spouse paid the Visa Fee, immediately after the visa was approved at the US Embassy before travelling to the US. Once arrived in the US, we are using the USCIS web site that its says to check case status online and enter the receipt number of the receipt when the fee was paid, but all it shows is the date that the fee was paid and that the green card will be issued within 90 days of entering the US. Is that all there is? Thanks

    You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Just take your letter of the appointment and go there and get it done. I highly doubt they will give you any hassle. I learned that here, even when you have the appointment, you can walk in much earlier and they let you in and do it. Takes a whole of 10 minutes.

    Well if you are already married and are coming to the US to live your life with your spouse and have a happy ever after, that is really all you need to say at the interview. Speak from the heart!

    I would hold on to celebrations to after the K1 Visa is approved and then throw the door out the window at the wedding.

    Why risk it? What is the upside to go through all that and then have your K 1 denied and have to start all over again. just get married and apply for the spousal visa, which in the long term will be far cheaper than a K1 as after you get married in the US with the K1 you have the additional expense of adjusting status.

    Unfortunately, outside of the marriage options, what is left are long term and not easy ones.

    Once I received notice that the 130 was approved and being sent to NVC, my spouse applied for the Police Certificate, took about one hour at the police station in his city in Indonesia and paid a small fee. It was in English and Bahasa so we did not have to get in translated. Our approval was March 31st and the interview July 7th.

    My experience in Texas was that they county clerk just asked to see an ID, I gave my driver license and my spouse showed his passport, there was no questions whatsoever about status in the US. We received the marriage license and 72 hours later were married and started the process of getting a green card.

    My husband's passport visa states "Upon endorsement serves as temporaryI-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year" Upon entering the US and receiving the stamp the visa becomes by de-facto his green card until such time as the actual card arrives, (which can take up to 4 months from reading the receipt of payment of the fee. In the hopefully unlikely event that he may have to leave the US due to an emergency, he can do so as per the quote above and the passport duly endorsed? Thanks

    If you are able to get married then just go ahead and get married and it will be cheaper for sure and most likely due to the timing if your spouse enters the USA after two years of marriage automatically gets the 10 year green card. That unfortunately happened to me, my spouse came in on a K1 and we paid for adjustment of status, work permit and advance parole, but due to an emergency at his home country he had to leave and then we had to apply for a CR1 visa which was finally approved and he will come next month. If you can, just get married and apply for the Spousal Visa.

    My divorce was final on June 6th 2017 and I filed for my K-1 Visa, July 1 2017 and was approved without issue.
