  1. Why not get the medical exam in Moscow? Warsaw processed folks from Russia are allowed to do that, and they’ll be exempt from the COVID vaccines, as they are not offered in Russia. No real reason to get the exam in Warsaw if she is in Russia. you must enter the USA within six months of the medical exam. Pretty large window. Further, medical results may not be sent to the embassy instantly. If you’re on a Schengen visa, it’s going to be very tight to do all of the + visa processing time in that timeframe.
  2. Well, it's my spouse, and she has her own foreign (Georgian) bank accounts. They have enough money. I'm just not sure if the sponsor letter can help/hurt i.e. if it's obvious we plan to go to Poland
  3. Is there any point to using myself as a sponsor? She was rejected for a month long UK visa (too long I realize now) and they noted that I was a sponsor but basically said, "we look at the main applicant's ability to finance the trip", or some such thing.
  4. OK, Almaviva. Got it. That's the one I was looking at earlier. My wife is leaning towards using an agency (and people in her company are all about that) -- so if we visit that site you mentioned, are there going to be resources/discussions to convince her otherwise?
  5. We are going to try Italy, then move to Poland. @BenNomad I can't find information about applying directly, really. These agencies looked "official". Not sure.
  6. Thank you, I opted to do the form I-864 as you've suggested, and I have gathered bank statements for 3-4 months going backwards from the present date (I also have a new, third bank account so provided all I could there, but the other two are sufficient alone.)
  7. Thank you for the attempt of clarifying. I'm trying to decipher your words, which were not 100% explicit, from my POV, you'll have to forgive me, I am autistic -- so by "Rather than worrying about ghost issues, why not just present the best possible totality of circumstances up front, with the full form and added assets?" you are indeed trying to communicate, fill out the full I-864 form and use the assets there? Additionally, am I correct to surmise that the totals entered in the form for the bank account totals would be considered a snapshot, to be taken at the time when the form is submitted?
  8. Are you saying to file I-864 and include my bank account information? Is there any benefit other than this particular item? I'm not sure what other advantages the "full" form has here, perhaps I need to be enlightened. (Honestly, I find that form a little confusing, it seems like there are a ton of fields I must leave blank... but it's not a major deal to gather that information as I have cash assets that exceed the poverty requirements for multiple years.)
  9. Hello, the form is already complete and was completed accurately. I did use I-864EZ. This concern was just a last minute thought I realized. I will give it a shot. I would hope that if, for some reason it was a problem, it'd be an RFE beforehand. Thank you.
  10. Yes, I understand and trust your information as being accurate, and I comprehend the "current income" thing 100%, and it is quite easy to estimate and figure this out from my side. At the same time, I realize that an ####### officer can decide to make my life a living hell, because well, this system already has unforgivingly done so for me and so many others (especially those of us whose interview locations make 0 sense and involve a ton of hardship), so I am trying to clog up any potential problem holes as much as humanly possible.
  11. I keep seeing it on this forum and on the web. People are reporting you need to have 125% for 3 straight years. The I-864 instruction form does not actually specify anything in terms of timeline, so you are also correct ( it simply refers here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p ) but there is still a lack of clarity, and it would be natural to infer you need to meet the 3 year requirement without explicit messaging otherwise. I'm looking for that, if I can find it.
  12. Hello thanks. I have a pay statement from one of my jobs that shows my YTD income, which already exceeds the threshold, anyway. But I have multiple jobs, and your statement would also apply there with my pay stub from the second one (which alone would exceed the requirements). In other words, I'm not concerned about this year, or 2022, just 2021, and 2020, where I failed to meet the requirements abysmally. My question is this -- why do I keep seeing this bit repeated that you MUST meet all 3 years minimum income requirement, again and again? Since we must trek to Russian then to Greece, then to Germany, the to Warsaw due to my wife's Russian-ness, if the officer decides suddenly I didn't meet it there, that would be quite a pain logistically to return. Is there no official source on this? I can't find that, and it's a bit disheartening, since finding a co-sponsor may not be possible.
  13. Hello all! I well exceeded the income requirements in 2022, but not 2021, nor 2020. I also have 6+ months of paystubs in 2023 showing that I far exceed the requirements again. I'm filling the I-864EZ form, but I'm realizing now that some are saying you need ALL 3 YEARS to be above the poverty guidelines. As a secondary question, I'm using my tax transcript and inputting the line that says "TOTAL INCOME" there, since that's precisely what it asks for on the form. Can anyone provide some guidance on the above? If it's helpful, I have quite a bit of savings in a U.S. bank account that I could probably also use, but I would need to scrap the EZ version of the form. Thanks!
  14. You're going to need to contact NVC on a congressional staffer to get transferred. It's not going to get automatically reassigned, I think. We are at Warsaw since talking to congressional staffer.
  15. So, 17 days total? I guess we're going to go this route, too, if we can get assigned away from Moscow... is there some guide to making an application like this so I can help my wife? Like, what the booking and tickets need to be, where the tickets must originate, etc. if you know, that is And yes, if you have a single entry visa, you can still travel to another country in the EU. there are no border checks. you could drive a car into Poland from Greece if you really wanted to.
  16. We are still assigned to Moscow. My father has been ill and I’ve just not been able to move forward with our case. But I checked yesterday. Still Moscow.
  17. Hey, our case was just created in NVC, and the Interview Location is listed as Moscow. Did this happen to anyone else? What are we supposed to do?
  18. So the gameplan should be as follows: - submit without joint sponsor - if RFE, submit join sponsor - if advised, bring all joint sponsor docs to interview - even if not advised, bring to interview I was thinking they could make us go back and submit it and delay our case during the interview
  19. Hello! My income in 2020 according to my tax transcript was just under 1,000 dollars, the next year was around 20,000, both below the minimum. In 2022, it shot up to be way way above the minimum, and I have at least 6 months of paystubs from 2023 showing that it has continued. We are considering trying to go to Israel for processing and I know they are super hardcore there, or so I've heard. Should I add a joint sponsor? My mother is totally willing to do so, but I'm wondering if it could actually *hurt* our case. Bonus question: if we did add her, would we need her original signed affidavit document at the interview, or would a copy suffice?
  20. Hmm, I was under the impression Israel was pretty much accepting any transfer request now. I didn't know about the rejection requirement.
  21. Do you really have the option to keep the passport? I didn't think it was possible.
  22. Can one of you stay at the hotel to keep the presence and then your wife could go solo? I understand it’s a lot of pressure but, just another thought.
  23. Thanks. Yeah, I don't know about the submission thing. It's confusing. I suppose we could just submit the Georgia and the Russia ones and hold onto the Turkey one just in case. So, interviews became available that day, but how far out were they? I mean, did you have to schedule 2 months in advance or 1 month, etc?
