I'm so sorry. Seems it's all a matter of luck and some get it before others, just like NOA2. NVCResearch unfortunately doesn't give out case numbers, they can only locate the petition. At least I am assuming this seeing I don't know anyone that has been successful in getting a case number from NVCResearch, everyone looking for a case number there gets directed to public inquiry. Your best chances are the public inquiry. Attach your NOA2 and the email on June 29th saying it was received. It's taking unfortunately a week to get a reply now.

Sorry, I kinda knew that part about the 500 would be confusing. But your method works as well! haha The case number has the Julian date + 500. So in the example there, those 3 numbers after the year are 815. So the Julian date + 500 is this number. Meaning the Julian date is 315, and 315 is November 11th. If yours has 699, then the Julian date is 199 (699 - 500), and that is July 18th indeed.

Thank you!!! Your case number follows the below pattern: 3 letters that identify your embassy + year + (Julian date (+500)) + number of the case in that day I'll get the example that it's on the PDF on the first page of this thread: MTL2014815162 = MTL | 2014 | 815 | 162 = Montreal | Created in 2014 | 315th Julian Day (+ 500) | 162nd case that day = Montreal | Created in 2014 | November 11th | 162nd case that day "First three letters indicate that this case is going through Montreal, and the case number was assigned on November 11, 2014, and it was the 162nd case that day to be given a number. The first three letters indicate that this case is going through Montreal, and the number was assigned on November 11, 2014, and it was the 162nd case that day to be given a number. Use the calendar below." (From the PDF) You can find the 2023 Julian calendar here.

I don't think you need I-693 because that's basically the medical that was done before the interview. As long as you file AOS one year from the medical, you don't need it. I am unsure if we need to file anything from the doctor to prove we already had the medical or if they will have it all on file already. Seems we receive a form called DS-3025 from the doctor and that's what we should submit a copy of? (Don't take my words as final). You also don't need police certificates again, as far as I know, she's already in US/already vetted. VJ has a guide that I need to look into more in detail:

Hey, all! Sorry for the delay. @Robert Frasher I am not sure how Argentina does it. We have a medical first then a biometrics appointment at the visa center then the interview at the embassy. I'm sure the embassy website should explain, they have complete info there (different from other embassies out there). And I haven't looked too closely at AOS details. I only have a big picture of what I should do. However, when I search for where to file I-485 for family-based forms (our case for K1), it points me to this page: https://www.uscis.gov/uscis-lockbox-filing-locations-chart-for-certain-family-based-forms It matches what you have there.

When I found those timelines I also looked at some K1 cases that had a NOA2 close to their NOA2s. And they all had pretty short NVC processing. Would an NVC received and/or case number assigned -> NVC left take almost a year? One of them I see has a note that the embassy transfer was requested, so it could be possible it took 5 months between the case number and NVC left... however still too long. I haven't been able to check all timelines that have a huge processing time inside NVC, especially because it's not easy to go back and check March 2022 timelines here on VJ when I filter by NVC left (only a few per page, I can only skip 2 pages, etc). If you could see if these were odd cases/user mistakes or in fact NVC was taken 6 months to a year for K1 around March 2022, I'd appreciate it.

I am sorry you had to set up a date due to religious reasons. It's hard to predict and I am sure you probably were not expecting a long time for NOA2 and a long time for NVC processing. My NOA2 was on May 12th and I am still hoping for NVC to ship my case to the embassy, I don't even have a case number yet. However – I am still planning to arrive in US in October, so I don't think all is lost for you and I *definitely* would not follow the advice to give up on everything and re-apply for a spousal visa. You might have a really tight timeline and hope you don't lose money on wedding deposits, but consider this a possibility, unfortunately. First things first though. What is your embassy? I see NVC didn't receive your petition yet. Did you try emailing NVCResearch@state.gov? They are better at answering that. Your petition should already be there. You don't get a NVC welcome letter, you get an email from NVC when they ship the case to your embassy, this email has an attachment called K1-FTP. Filling your VJ timeline would help us understand when can you expect to get the visa in hand. Unfortunately, some embassies take longer than others, so you'd need to re-schedule your wedding or give up on the wedding plans and make new/cheaper ones when you finally get the visa.

I chimed in in that thread about the 60-day limit for NOA2 to NVC Received. I understand it was now raised to 120 days but most users won't really go back to fix their timelines now, so I think this skewed numbers down, not making it accurate. Right now it's back to around 40 days to get received. I understand the cap was to prevent user mistakes, but unfortunately, in this case, it made the timelines inaccurate due to the unforeseen delays in USCIS -> NVC process. Maybe more attention could've been paid to the K1 timelines. Not all users know how to contact support or even that there was a cap (the timeline only showed errors). Another inaccuracy I see is in the NVC processing. If you look at March 2022, you'll see a peak at 200 days for NVC processing. It's not true and a few timelines are pushing the numbers up due to user mistake (at least I assume it's a user mistake on selecting the year). Examples below: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=366778 https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=401191 https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=365994 More could be done to help users update their timelines. Sometimes it's hard for people to find it and accurately update it, especially if they're mobile users. If VJ wants to use 100% user-generated info for their stats (instead of colaborating with people pulling info from receipt numbers), then this has to be a priotity.

June 2022 K-1 I-129f Filers
Bh_sarah replied to madmanmike's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
No need to worry, I’ve seen that happen. It’s a USCIS mistake but nothing to fix either. Basically they switched the design and paper for our approval notice but some people still get the fancy one. Most of us get plain paper, and I-797c. See here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/form-i-797c-notice-of-action Just to confirm, it’s a I-797 with all your correct information but it says it will go to the embassy (basically skipping NVC). And it’s also in a special paper with an the liberty statue as a watermark? Like the one below? I just don’t understand why it came from MO for you… -
I didn't tell you to fill any DS-261 (or DS-260 - immigrant one). You only need DS-160. And you told me you already filled it. And your case is ready, so it's at the embassy. So you're done with NVC. Let me go back to the start. K1 is non-immigrant. However, when we go and check the status of our cases on CEAC here, we gotta choose the immigrant option to see the real status. You only use your case number to check it. The case number starts with the 3 letters representing your embassy + 10 numbers. No DS-160 application number is needed. What is your embassy? Every embassy has specific systems and ways of proceeding. No way to help if I don't know what's your embassy, unfortunately.
-
So you got your case number, correct? And when you track your case number here on CEAC (note that it's immigrant, not non-immigrant), it shows as ready? If it shows as ready, then your case is at your embassy. You already filled DS-160. Your NVC stage is done. Now it's embassy stage and every embassy has its own requirements. Did your embassy email you anything? They are supposed to email you the packet 3, but some take some time to do it. What is your embassy? The suggestion from the comment above is only specific to UK, every embassy is different and has its own system to schedule interviews and pay fees. I don't know why NVC gives out people invoice IDs or beneficiary IDs, those are completely useless to us. We don't need to create an account on CEAC (that is why your status there shows as no status), we don't need to submit any documents to CEAC/NVC and we definitely don't need to pay any fees at all at CEAC/NVC. I am sorry this process isn't transparent at all and the lines between immigrant and non-immigrant get blurred during NVC.

I assume they don't even assign you a case number if there's something wrong and your petition needs to be sent back, I only knew a few people that got their cases sent back and I think they never got their case number before it. Thank you, all my hope is now on next week. Will suck if I have to wait 2 more weeks for it to leave NVC, but it is what it is. Kinda on-brand to me by now.
