  1. Just to let you all know I've been having A LOT of issues scanning with CaseTracker since USCIS updated the case status page. Many SSL errors and time outs and unfortunately I can't deal with it when I am scanning 20 ranges of 500 cases. I've been trying everyday but some cases get this error and then my whole range is ruined. I will keep trying but don't count on the spreadsheet being totally updated too soon. I'm sorry about that and I'm specially sorry for all of those still waiting!
  2. Do you mean that timelines are not really accepting a huge difference between NOA2 and NVC Received? Do you know how many days is the limit? The data is really bad because of it, since most early 22 filers are taking 80, 90 days at NVC......
  3. Since you already have a case number, the whole case creation timeline doesn't apply to you anymore, in my view. Your case has already been created. You already have a case number. That's what I gather from this... Now you'll need to wait for NVC to ship your case to your embassy. There's a calendar in the first post of this thread. Next shipping dates are next week. I wonder why you missed the shipping dates last week. Is your embassy really backlogged? You can try checking timelines here on VJ. Select your country and filter it by NVC left or visa interview.
  4. I know this website. It just gets info from the NVC timeframes page. Keep in mind most of the things there applies to I-130 cases and/or cases that need to upload documents to NVC/get DQ'd first before getting to the embassy part. K1 is an odd case. NVC only serves to review our approval/ship our cases to our embassies. The whole "documents review" part doesn't apply to us either. I-130 cases do get the whole "Sent to Department of State" status. I-129fs do not. They even get updates like "case is being actively reviewed" when we are all just left in the dark.
  5. Thank you for the insight! Coming from a family with unusual given names (I escaped the fate), I spend an awful lot of time thinking about names. I am used to spelling my name since a little kid since I have two German names and well, I'm Brazilian. Also living abroad, I got used to spelling my name in English, and it's so much easier for English speakers to spell my last name than Brazilians. Oh and the whole "Sarah with an H" adds to it too! haha but it honestly does not bother me. Never had any issues with documents being misspelled either. To be fair, the only thing that one bothered me was my Canadian college omitting my first last name on my diploma because they thought it was a middle name (I required it to be changed). Needless to say, I would also need to spell my soon-to-be-husband last name in the US haha it's short but it's Czech. At least I don't have a middle name to add to the confusion, but I don't want to get rid of my family names at all. It's something I will need to think about (in the next months) and research MO laws when it comes to changing names. But we already decided on simple but not too generic names for the future kids that would work on both languages. I researched a lot about this Friday. I encountered only situations where the GC given name ended up being truncated, but couldn't find any about last names. Only one case where a letter was missing on the 10 year GC but it was an error since the conditional GC showed up the full last name. I just can't find the official character limit for last names on GC. It seems it's 18 for given names (counting spaces). Should I consider this true to last names as well? My intended full last name does fit the I-485 space and would be 18 characters long with 2 spaces. I appreciate all the help!
  6. Uh, no one is lying to us. The last status we get from USCIS is "Case was Approved". If anything else shows up after your approval, you might be in trouble (example: Department of State sent the case back to USCIS for Review - that would mean NVC sent your case back). If it stays approved, then it's how it's supposed to be. I saw you talking about contacting USCIS on previous posts. Your case has been received by NVC. USCIS has nothing to do with it right now, their job is done. You now have to wait for a case number from NVC that starts with the three letters representing your embassy. Inquire again next week asking for a case number. If you do get a case number, you track it on CEAC, *not* NVC.
  7. That one I can’t say. There is a calendar for NVC shipping in the first post of this thread here, but some people don’t make the shipping I guess. It depends. But most of what I saw get from “in transit” to “ready” in a matter of days!
  8. I see, might need to talk to my fiancé about it, I am not keen on getting rid of my last names either. I was going to just add it to the end of my name instead of replacing mine to minimize issues with documents but now a long last name is also an issue... and that's because I don't even have a middle one! haha Oh yes, for those that do not have a last name, adding a married name is a saving grace!
  9. I see. Thank you for your kind explanation! And seeing I will file AOS soon (hopefully this year) I might as well get ahead of things instead of being confused when the time comes haha I just wanted to add my fiancé's last name to mine, but that would make me have a 23 character full name (5 for given name, 5 for first maiden name, 8 for second maiden name, 5 for married last name). So it's ok for the given name part (only 5 characters) but it gets complicated on surname (18 characters). I am researching and it seems the limit is 18 characters but it includes spaces too making mine 20 characters long... Yay. I wouldn't mind at all if my maiden names got just the initial letter on the GC but it seems USCIS simply cuts the last characters off? But also feel weird adding them as middle names since they aren't middle names, though it might be a solution if the green card doesn't have a specific space for it. I will research topics here to see examples too. Maybe I'll just not change my name at all when I get married, way too complicated! haha thank you for your explanation again!
  10. It's hard to know. 2-3 weeks after that seems to be the norm (for those that inquire again, some people never get the welcome e-letter from NVC it seems). I am still waiting. Got the same email as yours this Monday.
  11. Real. Congratulations! They got your case, but it’s not in their systems yet so they can’t give you a case number.
  12. I understand the feeling completely, been there. But June is still the one getting the most approvals right now and it's only about 50% completed, there are still 1500 cases untouched. Don't give up hope now. Remember if USCIS had not sped up processing lately, June would only begin to see approvals in September, October. It's coming! Yeah, kinda sucks to me scanning about 20 ranges haha but I'll keep trying! At least it's not something on my end and it kinda works one out of 20 times I scan..... haha
  13. Now it's working better just because I said the above.... Only a few ones didn't load and I can manually search them. Well, good luck everyone. They are still heavily focused on June so your time is coming. If it makes you feel better, just got to know two more Feb 22 filers that completed 500 days of waiting on FB.
  14. Random question here, are you being able to scan the whole range of 500 with case tracker without at least one case timing out or receiving an SSL error? I can't really scan February cases accurately anymore because of this.
  15. I don’t want to hijack this thread at all, but I’m curious. What happens if the K1 beneficiary has 3 last names (no middle, 2 maiden, 1 married last name)? I intend to just add my fiancés name to mine, and I have 2 last names, no middle name. Will both my last names be my “middle names” when I file it?
  16. Congratulations!!! You don’t need the case number to fill DS-160. They only ask for the WAC number. If you will need it for interview scheduling, that’s embassy specific info and I don’t really know. What you can do with this case number is to track your case status on CEAC. No invoice ID required. Just select immigrant visa (K1 is not immigrant, but in this part, it’s how it works).
  17. Like @Shane-Debby said above, it's taking about 60 days for the petition to get received by NVC now. Some cases are faster than others, others take longer. It's a gamble. Then a few more weeks for a case number. Funny that you got two responses to the same inquiry by two different agents, but they all say the same thing in the end, that they still don't have it. My first inquiry at 30 days had the same response, my second at day 45 as well. Only on day 52 I was able to get a positive one so I am waiting until late next week to inquire again. I'd say try again next week and hopefully you will get a positive reply soon!
  18. They always say to only use the public inquiry or to wait 60 days. Or 90. And wait for the welcome letter. It's standard. But they do answer us through there any way and way faster (1 day vs. 1 week). After AskNVC took one week just to reply me with something that had nothing to do with my case... I just pretend I didn't read it! haha I guess it's okay as long as we are patient and don't send emails every day.
  19. I researched a bit and it seems even if it was not dangerous for her to go back, she wouldn't be able to get one anyway. Canada official website has a page about police certificates needed for immigration there too and they say: "You can’t get a certificate unless you’re a resident. If you don’t live in Burma (Myanmar) anymore, you don’t provide a police certificate from there. If you’re asked for a police certificate from Burma (Myanmar), write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Burma (Myanmar) because certificates are only available to people who currently live in Burma (Myanmar).” However, note that US Department of State document reciprocity website says: "Police certificates must be obtained from the Burmese township police station of your primary residence. Only one Burmese police certificate is required. For persons residing overseas, the most practical way to obtain the certificate is through close relatives or friends still in Burma." Does she have any close relatives or friends there yet? Seems honestly like a hardship for them to go after this for her in a dangerous war time. Can she communicate to the embassy in Thailand so they reconsider it due to the dangerous situation/not able to get it digitally from abroad? Do still post this on the general topic. Maybe other people managed to get one/managed to get approved without one.
  20. I am so so sorry. Can you try posting this as its own topic on the general topics (K1 process and procedures)? Probably more people will be able to help.
  21. Also don't take my opinion as the truth! Hahah I would *assume* the replies from NVC Research are more accurate because they are indeed focused on researching the petitions/cases/giving you info about it. The public inquiry deals with all kinds of questions related to NVC. To be fair, I feel they never dealt with such an amount of inquiries. People that got their NOA2s before USCIS processing times sped up didn't even bother because it took 30-45 days to get the NVC welcome letter. Now with processing times higher than before, they are having to deal with hundreds inquiries about it. And sometimes inquiries to both at the same time. So conflicting answers are bound to happen. That's just my personal assumption though from what I am seeing.
  22. I’m seeing a lot of mixed up replies or generic replies too. I would trust the NVC research email instead of the NVC public inquiry in this case. And keep asking them now about a case number mentioning that your petition was already received and you know it through inquiry on June 28.
  23. From NVCResearch? It’s legit. Just got the same email 🥳 Now we wait for a case number!!!
  24. Such great news! Getting so fast! I was not ready for this haha congratulations! On the other hand, I think I will need to wait until after the holiday to know about my petition. My public form inquiry on Monday was replied to today, but the reply talked about adoption and asking for certificates of adoption… I have no idea why, someone totally mixed up my case with another. I provided everything correctly plus the notice 🤡 Anyway, I’ll just submit another next week. Keep trying everyone!
  25. Yep, the standard one that they haven't received yet and I should allow 60 days. It's all over the place to be fair, it's not in order, but seeing NOA2s so close to mine made me wonder if it's there already and I couldn't wait until next week to inquire. Fingers crossed our petitions were in the same batch. If not, all good and we'll try next week – this is already way faster than I was counting on!
