Go to their website and strike up a conversation with their chatbot by clicking on 'Ask Emma' in the top right – type in live agent and select the option to connect to live chat (or something along those lines). Only works on weekdays and is best done in the morning. The individual helpfulness of each agent varies a lot, so we had to try a couple of times but it's worth it. Good luck!

Wow, I can't believe it. We took to Emma again today to pester two separate agents since the first one was unwilling to disclose any information. The second agent however told us that our case was actually shipped out on May 22! Which is wild because not only has the NVC never gotten back to us, but another USCIS agent told us they had not sent out our case just last week. No matter. I'm happy and hoping for good news from the NVC soon.

I honestly doubt it's got anything to do with embassy backlogs, for three reasons: • People from all over the world are receiving their interview dates pretty quickly for the most part, once the consulate has actually received their case. Plus, I know for a fact that my embassy is not backlogged at all and I'm almost at the 90 day mark without a word still. • As far as I'm aware, USCIS is probably not keeping tabs on which embassies are backlogged and which aren't, and I doubt the NVC would be telling USCIS "please hold only cases for X country". • Rumor has it that most other visa categories are still being transferred in a timely manner.

Same boat. We got approved after almost 15 months, and now the additional 3 for NVC transfer. Which I could accept if I didn't have to worry about being left behind entirely without any help like poor @Bloomingdale What's got me worried is that NVC research has not bothered replying to any of our inquiries (we've sent two since mid May, NOA2 and general information included of course), and all the USCIS keeps telling us is that our case hasn't been sent out. The deadline for Tier 2 to call us back is approaching fast too, wonder if that'll happen.
-
I know we've touched on this earlier in the thread, but just to clarify: I won't have to do anything once our I-797 expires, correct? Seeing how 3 months have aready passed without NVC contact, that's bound to happen now, so I just want to make sure I don't have to contact the embassy or anyone else and request for it be extended manually.

DECEMBER 2021 1-129F K1 FILERS

What on earth? That is highly unprofessional – "beg them to transfer your case"? Why is this agent speaking like they aren't even working for USCIS? I would report them if I were you. -
DECEMBER 2021 1-129F K1 FILERS

Wow, June 14th? Seems like such a short wait time from case ready to interview, congrats! How long did the file transfer from NVC to embassy take? -
The CIS Ombudsman isn't directly affiliated with USCIS, so contacting them won't take up any resources. They'll just poke USCIS and tell them it's time to move your case. Which might be your only shot in case your upcoming transfer ends up in eternal limbo like some of ours, since they actually have some authority and are there purely to assist people like us.
-
Remember to ask them to speak to a Tier 2 representative when you call USCIS using the infopass method, on top of insisting on concrete information. Also, make sure to put in a request for case assistance to the CIS Ombudsman. (In fact, I'd urge everyone who's been waiting for 60+ days to contact the Ombudsman). Both of those avenues unfortunately come with their own processing time of 30 days each, but it's better than nothing. Ngl, I'm starting to get real pissed off.
-
Where have you heard that? Every time we've managed to get a hold of an agent we got the 90 day spiel personally. Almost 18 months in and I'm just so tired, we're only 10 days away from the deadline now and the idea of USCIS even then potentially refusing to do anything about it sends chills down my spine. Would probably hire a lawyer at that point.
-
Hey, at least we're making history, right ... I'm half wishing for a class action lawsuit or something at this point. 18+ months just to get through the very first step of the K1 is just inhumane. Especially since it would never have gotten this bad if USCIS hadn't deprioritized i-129fs as much as they did.
-
I don't think that's necessarily true – my embassy deals with like two K1s per year and very little immigration to the US in general, and USCIS is still withholding our case. That said, it's now day 79 and the internal inquiry didn't lead to anything either. USCIS just sent us an email saying "we're experiencing transfer delays right now, thank you for your patience" ...
-
Go to the USCIS website (like this contact page for instance) – in the top right corner you'll see an option called 'Ask Emma', which is the name of their chat bot. All you gotta do is type in 'live agent' and she'll eventually connect you with someone from support. For best results, I recommend trying this in the morning on a weekday.

Ok so goodish news, and a potential avenue for those still waiting: Since we're currently sitting at day 73 and the infopass method didn't bring any results, we tried going through Emma today and were able to connect with a live agent quickly – who promptly answered that our case doesn't seem to have been sent out yet. They then immediately offered to make an internal inquiry on our behalf (bless their soul), with a deadline of roughly two weeks. So while that time frame would still put us at the 90 day mark, at least our case is now logged at USCIS and shouldn't be forgotten.

Does someone here know anything about the behind the scenes following a NVCResearch@state.gov inquiry? We sent ours this weekend (currently on day 71 since NOA2), but after USCIS let us know that our case hasn't been shipped yet just a few days prior and that they won't look into it before 90 days have passed, I'm wondering whether or not even the NVC is able to help. Also, do cases this far behind on processing times receive any kind of priority treatment at the NVC? My consulate isn't backlogged, so I might cry if we'd still have to wait another month or two for them to forward our case once it finally does show up lol
-
Same, we just called and could get barely any info out of our agent since it's 'only' been 65 days – after tons of prying my fiancé asked if they had any evidence that our case has been shipped out yet, to which they said no. Guess that means it's still sitting there. I'm getting frustrated all over again. We have an important event happening mid September that I really don't want to miss. As if K1s haven't been through enough already.
-
Probably a dumb question, but could any of you tell me what the expiration date on the physical approval notice means and entails? (i.e. the section saying notice type: approval notice – valid from [date] to [date]?) Does the case have to be processed by the NVC within that time frame or ..? I'm only asking since I'm worried the consulate may only be able to issue the K1 within the validity period, though that's probably unrealistic considering how backed up a lot of embassies still are.

If it's still true that USCIS is working by the box, I hope my approval means they just opened a whole stack of December 22 filers. I sincerely hope everyone here gets approved as fast as possible. The wait is nerve-wrenching.
