Thanks for your answer. Just to clarify, I pay for AOS first, but then can I go back right away and pay for IV or do I need to wait for everything in AOS to be completed before I can start on IV? Can I work on the two concurrently?

I was able to log into NVC today and I got following page: The National Visa Center (NVC) has received your approved immigrant visa petition from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Before NVC can schedule your visa interview, you need to complete the following steps: Step 1: Pay fees. Step 2: Complete an Immigrant Visa (IV) Application (form DS-260). Step 3: Submit required financial and civil documents. After all required documents are submitted, if something is missing or incorrect, NVC will send you an email to check your CEAC Messages. You can access your CEAC Messages by clicking "View Messages". To verify the email addresses on your case and provide updates as required, click ‘Edit’ in the Contact Information section. After your documentation has been accepted by NVC, your interview will be scheduled at the local U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Refer to http://nvc.state.gov/ceac and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), for additional instructions and helpful hints. If you have further questions, contact NVC online via Ask NVC or call 1-603-334-0700. The instructions tell me to pay for DS-260 first, but then when I scroll below, I first see option to pay for Affadivit of Support and BELOW that option to for DS-260 application. My question, which one should I be paying for first? Should I pay for DS-260 and only tackle AoS AFTER the DS-260 has been completed and accepted? Or can I pay for one and then pay for the other? Website won't let me pay both fees at the same time. Thank so you much in advance. This process is so confusing.

I was mulling over this for a bit, but I decided against it. First reason is that I would get double taxed, by both US and Canada. I would have to pay for health insurance out of pocket instead of benefit from possible employee plan discounts. There would be very little chance for advancement or progression within company, at least in my position, because you would basically be overlooked for someone in the office/in the country. If there is a regime change in my company and they decide to make changes, the person working remotely from a different country is a good option for chopping block. Finally, I have made a decision to move to the US and want to build more connections within the US and transfer my life there.

Got our approval letter this morning! 🙌 I was still asleep and my husband was so excited he dragged me out of bed to show me. Now off to NVC stage. Been reading about and am super confused. -

Not true! My husband is USC and still not word 😪 Our case has been in 'Actively Reviewing' status since it was submitted. It literally went to that status on the day we submitted it and hasn't budget. I am super worried that our case has been missed for that reason. -

I know how you're feeling - I'm feeling exactly the same way. I am trying to do my best not to allow this wait get to me, but when I see other people get shorter wait times, I really get discouraged and it makes me feel like the whole process is unfair. Like you, I am happy for everyone who is able to get their approval quickly, but I would be even happier if everyone got their approval quickly. -

Good thing I read your post. Based on it, I had my husband (the petitioner) call USCIS and inquiry and our case has also been transferred from Texas to Nebraska. That is 2.5 months extra wait, according to USCIS's website. Our processing time shows that the case is taking longer than usual and that is what it always showed. -
I got married in May 2022 to an American man. He's living in USA. Never lived in Canada, never worked in Canada. I am waiting on my green card while living in working in Canada. Anyway, this is the first year I am filing taxes as married and CRA is asking me to provide information about his earning. I selected to file taxes separately (he filed his with his accountant in the US). Do I just enter his information below and convert his data into Canadian dollars? Should I be contacting an accountant and would you recommend I work with a cross border accountant specifically? I've been filing taxes on my own since 2013. This is the info they're asking about. Some of these would obviously be $0, but stuff like net income and taxable income etc., I would need to enter. T1 General (federal) Net income 23600 Net income before adjustments 23400 Taxable income 26000 Universal child care benefit (UCCB) 11700 Universal child care benefit repayment 21300 Child care expenses 21400 Disability supports deduction 21500 Social benefits repayment 23500 Registered disability savings plan (RDSP) income 12500 RDSP repayment (if Michael specified this amount on line 23200) 23200 Taxable capital gains 12700 Tax-exempt income for emergency services volunteers 10105 Exempt other pensions (not including CPP/QPP benefits) and superannuation (under the Indian Act) 6 T90 (federal) Total exempt working income (under the Indian Act) 10000 Net exempt income (under the Indian Act) 10026 T1 General (federal) What's Michael's employment income (line 10100) and other employment income (line 10400)? Taxable scholarship, fellowships, bursaries, and artists' project grants 13010 What's the total amount of Michael's self-employment income shown on lines 13500, 13700, 13900, 14100, and 14300? (don't include losses and income from a communal organization) If Michael had split income in 2022, what's their total split income? (line 68360 on their 2022 T1206 form)LEARN MORE

It's an automated email from Visa Journey that comes every so often. My last one told me that the estimated date for my decision is now July 04, 2023. -

What is your estimated time for approvel from Visa Journey saying? Mine started with April, creeped into May, and is now showing June 2023 -
I am Canadian and am currently visiting my US spouse in New York. I entered US by car on December 17. I told them I will be staying here until December 27. The thing is, I am having a bit of a medical emergency and I really don't want to drive back to Canada and be on my own. Is it a big deal if I stay for another day and head back on 28th?

Mine also got approved automatically without an interview.

My husband checked our USCIS page and he said that processing time has disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else? -

I couldn't see my processing time last time I checked (I am Texas). It just said something along the lines that the requests are taking longer than usual.
