Just submitted my DS-5535 form. Less than half an hour of work for information they mostly had on file. I heard there is a spreadsheet you guys are keep track of DS-5535 information? How do I update it with my information.

But country of birth sometimes absolutely means nothing and is not representative of the applicant nor of their culture. Aw well. Yes, I do recall seeing that field with my country of birth.

Well that sucks. Would’ve gotten rid of my Serbian passport had I know it was going to cause me problems.

That is insane! What is a little baby going to do that is a threat? Were they at least able to get their process cleared fast?

I was born in Serbia. I do hold a Serbian passport so I was worried the whole time that that may trigger a red flag for them. Could that be it?

That’s al ml right. I had a feeling I was going to get this ( luck, I guess) and prepared myself mentally for it. No Iranian or ME background. just a request for DS-5535. Is getting a request for CV good or bad?

I had my interview today. Was served DS-5535. Wouldn’t tell me why, of course. I hope you all have better luck than I do. I am off to join DA-5535. This is going to be a long wait.

Thanks for your response, that is very good to know. Trying to navigate this whole thing has been challenging at least.

Okay, thanks for your answer. I am not planning on working for a Canadian company. Noted about Child Tax Benefit. And good to know about maternity pay. I was under the impression that you lose if you leave Canada but it's good to be able to keep it.

I was under the impression that once I cross the border and my visa 'activates' I cease to be a resident of Canada and that I am no longer employed by my employer, and that I am no longer eligible for maternity leave and Canada child tax benefits (I am on maternity leave). Is that true?

Good luck! I'm sending good vibes over your way!

Thank you kindly for your reply! Any advice for the DS-260 or should I just let it be? -
Perfect, thanks! Have a happy new year!

Hi, I'm the petitioner and my husband is the USC. I was DQ'd on September 07, 2023. Our child was born on December 14 in Canada. She qualifies for CRBA and we have submitted an application and got an interview for her on January 30, 2024. My visa interview in Montreal is for January 29, 2024. My questions are - - do I need to update my DS-260? How do I go about this? - do we need to submit an updated AoS? Also, how do we do this? - is there anything else we need to do? I am trying to dot the i's and cross the t's to make sure we do everything correctly. Thank you so much in advance for your replies

Okay, good to know. Thanks for your quick answer 🙂 I will go and seek more info. My whole life has been a bit hectic since a little one has come along and I'm trying to make sure I get everything right because between this, her CRBA, and all the other appointments and paper works, it's been getting overwhelming at times. Do you happen to remember where you submitted the updated document? On my CEAC, there is a section for Required Documents, where I added all the stuff they needed to DQ me. That part is now closed and only portion for Optional Documents is open but it says those are for: Your country of origin and/or the U.S Embassy or Consulate you are visiting may require that you upload additional documents for review. You will be able to find country specific documents in the “Where to obtain documents” link. If additional documents are required, please upload them by clicking the “Add a Document” link below.. Thanks a bunch again!

Something just occurred to me - did you submit your AoS before or after you had the baby? We submitted ours before she was born so only the two of us are included in the calculation.

I just had it done. My doctor's immunization form asks specifically for 'Proof of Lab Immunity'. Your regular GP will order tests only for vaccines you know you haven't received (e.g. if you recently got a flu shot, they won't ask you for that).
-
Okay, will do it then. Thanks 😀

Okay, perfect. Thanks for your help! Looks like my family will be spending Christmas in the USA 🙂
-
This is the first document government sends out. She was born a week ago and birth certificate can take 4-8 weeks, so we are waiting for it. We are just trying to cross to the US for Christmas and for some sanity because we don't have any family in Ontario.

Hi, just wanted to follow up on this - does anyone have any insight on this? Is there another thread I could ask this?

Thanks! My doctor gave me a rapid vaccine where you get three shots within 21 days so I should be fully vaxed in time for my interview.
