Thank you that’s some really good information. We got married about a month into the K-1 visa so we were able to get a Social Security card in her maiden and now in her married name. We were also able to get a state issued ID card in her maiden and married name the only differences it expires when her Visa expires and she will not be able to get a new ID card or drivers license until her adjustment of status is complete. I’m not concerned about her being approved for the adjustment of status. It’s just this awkward interim. Thanks for sharing your story, I appreciate it .

My apologies if this has been covered, I searched but unable to locate anything... What is the status of a k1 visa holder after they are married and have filed for adjustment of status (all within the original 90 days) but have do not have an approved I-485. Technically, the K1 visa is no longer valid or will expire within the 90 days. I ask because the state I am in (Idaho) says they can't issue an ID card or DL unless there is lawful status. The Idaho DMV states that once the party is married, the K1 is no longer valid and are unable to do anything until the green card is issued. Thanks,!

Having just gone through this, NVC is S-L-O-W right now.. it was 100 days from NOA2 to NVC case number (several inquiries and a letter to the senator). Yes, the I-129F will expire 120 days after NOA2, but the embassy has the discretion to extend the date, but they can't until they have the document (CEAC status of at least 'in transit' or 'ready') Also, using logic with USCIS and NVC about 100+ days to embassy and 120 day expiration does not work. My recommendation is have the USC monitor the progress, call USCIS to see if you can find out the ship date to NVC (at about NOA2 +80 days) - it may take several calls; then line up your senator if you go over 90 days of no answer from NVC. This is a HUGE babysitting exercise and literally the most stressful part of this whole process. Also, depending on your embassy, you can get a lot done during this wait - DS160, MRV, I-134, etc.

Have you completed the sessions yet? I agree with the answer above. We needed to do that for a passport in 2021, expensive, but worked very quickly.

As for the CFO, we just went onto the website and asked for a reprint of the temporary and the new temporary had an extended date on it. So I think we will use that I plan to have all the documentation, ready and check with the Bureau Immigration on my way into the country to see what they think of my documentation for when we’re on our way out of the country. Thank you. I have a confirmed DS160 and printed the confirmation page. I don't recall seeing anything when I made the K1 visa interview appointment were to put (enter) the DS160 confirmation number. Any ideas?

I recently scheduled the K1 interview in Manila and just read on the appointment portal: "it is vital that you provide the valid and correct DS-160 confirmation number when you schedule an appointment" However I do not recall seeing anywhere requesting the DS160 confirmation, the payment receipt, but not the DS160 confirmation. Did I do something wrong? If so, should I call the embassy? Thanks!

Fingers crossed, my fiancee and I will be traveling from Manila to Seattle in a month or so. I was thinking of using this trip to allow for visiting Dubai together as she will not be able to travel until AP or AOS (K1 Visa). My question is: Does anyone think there will be an issue with Philippine Immigration (off loading) provided my fiancee has her K1 visa, and UAE visa, CFO, and we can show continuing travel from UAE to USA? I am a USC and will be traveling with her. Also, has anyone been told about having their CFO 'stamped' (a 'blue' stamp)? Thanks!

For my timeline, 412198, I receive an error when entering in the date 2023-06-02. Only way to resolve the issue was to remove the entry. Any suggestions? Thanks, -Kurt

Would like to know this too. I read the above, and while appreciated, most do not work except for just contacting NVC. Also, I have heard of people bypassing the auto attendant at USCIS and the level 1 can let you know if the I129f has been shipped or not. But USCIS will do nothing for 90 days, and a level 2 call back is within 30 days.

While you are doing this, you may want to get a 13a Philippine visa, it is a little bit of a pain, but I think it is better in the long run IMO.

Mullvad VPN, yes you pay, but it is anonymous and very reliable. Also, if you purchase an access point with an OpenVPN server, you connect the AP to the Philippines wired connection, establish a VPN to the states and then connect your laptop to the AP, your laptop with 'think' it is in the USA, since the VPN tunnel is established before you connect. Just another method..

Yes..every other day. I think my picture will soon be on the NVC lunch room as the current "PIA" NOA2 3/24. Actually, the case number wasn't required for the DS-160. I thought it was too, but, from what I can figure out, and tell me if this makes sense... DS-160 is good for one year and has a confirmation number DS-160 payment receipt is good for one year and has a serialized number that shows either 'paid' or 'unpaid' NOA2 from USCIS has a receipt number, the beneficiary has an "A" number, and that is linked to the case number. So when you schedule the interview, you put in your case number (linked to the NOA2) and at interview show the confirmation for the DS-160, that would then be linked to the Case number -and- Embassy can verify the payment receipt number as valid My only question when completing the personal info for the interview schedule, there is a mandatory field for 'priority date', not sure what to put there.... "To Whom it Concerns: Thank you for your inquiry. The National Visa Center (NVC) has not yet received your petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Although the Form I-797 approval notice mentions a delay of up to 30 days for cases to be delivered to NVC from USCIS, current shipping times may be longer. If you have not received a communication from NVC about this case within 60 days from the I-797 approval notice, please contact us again. Once NVC receives this petition from USCIS and enters it into our system, all case parties will receive a notice that they can begin processing if a visa number is immediately available."

Congrats!! No, we still don't have our case number, it has been more than 30 days. We have all our documents ready (NBI, CENOMAR, Birth Cert, Photos, I-134, DS-160, Receipt for DS-160, relationship books) and we have practiced for our interview.. but thats it until the case number

Yes, it does time out... a lot... but just save often and you can always go back to it.
