    No i didn't read wrong. The I 865 is required to report a change of address on an EFFECTIVE I 864. If beneficiary is not yet a permanent resident the i864 is not yet EFFECTIVE and no charge of address clock has even started.

    The I864 doesn't become effective until the beneficiary becomes a permanent resident. I assume that hasn't even happened yet.

    Pictures are secondary evidence. Don't waste a lot of time with pictures. Concentrate on better primary evidence.

    After the petition is approved, then the petition is forwarded to NVC whom will assign it to your Consulate with a new case number. Once the petition has actually arrived at the Consulate, then and only then can you proceed with the application phase of the process.

    The I551 stamp in the passport is for all practical purposes a greencard and all rights and privileges are conveyed at that time. There is zero difference between the stamp and the actual card.

    We did it through Chicago and it was a couple three weeks. I don't remember sending a ream of paper so i am curious why. While the ROB can be done via mail, the passport requires a Consulate visit or via an outreach event. We got our daughters passport when we were in the PI. Cheaper and faster particularly if you are near a DFA office.

    The validity of a relationship is not required for petition approval. It is best practice to include only evidence that is required for petition approval. Fluff can sometimes cause the adjudicator to miss the important evidence
