  2. Nonsense, my wife attempts and does in fact leave all the time without a valid visa. Your original statement is flawed and incomplete. Exactly
  3. The owner of Platinum is a fairly frequent poster here on VJ, he is well known and well respected
  4. NVC will direct you to the consulate as they have sole authority to extend
  5. If you are going to provide a list of terminating events, please provide all of them. Besides the ability to be credited with 40 quarterly SS credits you also failed to mention death.
  6. My wife doesn't have a valid visa to enter the US in her passport and she is not a dual but only a Philippines citizen.. it is the showing of your US passport to the Bureau of Immigration at passport control upon exit that will be the clue....
  7. You failed to mention which service center. The average appears to be about 2 years but knowing the service will be more helpful
  8. You will be waiting a very long time for a welcome packet because they don't send them. Everything is on the website
  9. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/HongKong.html Follow the link, scroll down to police reports, click the link and read the acquisition process from outside of Hong Kong
  10. We transit ICN everytime we come and it isn't a problem for a Filipina passport holder.
  11. Most virtual mailboxes that I have looked at also give you a real physical address to use as a part of the service
  12. Look at changing your permanent US address to someplace such as South Dakota. Qualifying takes one night is SD and you can claim residence and get SD driver's license. There are quite a few services in SD such as America's Mailbox or South Dakota Post and a few others. As for banking look at Charles Schwab. No ATM fees on international withdrawals.
  13. I have been here since October on Balikbayan privilege. You must enter at the SAME time to avail yourself to the spousal Balikbayan privilege. If you enter alone you will receive 29 days.
  14. Most are parts of two days. Best to adjust your expectations and possibly your travel plans
  15. What are the advantages of the 13a? I am simply using the Balikbayan privilege as I don't spend an entire year here without a step out. I've been here since October and will step out in April as we return to the USA for the summer before coming back.
  16. Has anyone tried to use the Acceptance Agent in Angeles City to help with an ITIN while abroad? I have not heard a success story and wonder why they exist if no one can use them
  17. Permission letter is not required but a nice to have just in case Make sure you ask for Balikbayan status upon arrival
  18. It seems like you have a good grasp of what your options are. Not sure what other advice you are looking for
  19. Not in Manila. This was posted in the Philippines forum so the OP was interested in a consulate specific answer not one based on generalities.
  20. My wife was 22 when she got her visa. No parental permission was required for the interview or CFO
  21. If you are willing to drive to Minnesota or Iowa you have a few options other than just LBC or Forex. Currently IBB is $80 for large box.
