    My wife doesn't have a valid visa to enter the US in her passport and she is not a dual but only a Philippines citizen.. it is the showing of your US passport to the Bureau of Immigration at passport control upon exit that will be the clue....

    Look at changing your permanent US address to someplace such as South Dakota. Qualifying takes one night is SD and you can claim residence and get SD driver's license. There are quite a few services in SD such as America's Mailbox or South Dakota Post and a few others. As for banking look at Charles Schwab. No ATM fees on international withdrawals.

    I have been here since October on Balikbayan privilege. You must enter at the SAME time to avail yourself to the spousal Balikbayan privilege. If you enter alone you will receive 29 days.

    What are the advantages of the 13a? I am simply using the Balikbayan privilege as I don't spend an entire year here without a step out. I've been here since October and will step out in April as we return to the USA for the summer before coming back.
