  1. It is not a deal breaker nor is it a petition breaker. Simply answer the questions to the best of your ability.
  2. Consulates changed policy as a result of COVID in regards to whom can enter the building. A lot of consulates have not yet returned to what was allowed pre COVID. Hopefully someone will happen by with more recent information
  3. A careful read of the OP initial post would indicate a marriage in California so there is no IF... BTW, California is not alone in this ability to update names upon marriage.
  4. Doing what state law allows isn't lying. My wife changed the spelling of her first name, adopted a middle name and changed her last name because the law within state in which we married allowed. She the immediately applied for a new passport in the post marriage name, went and used the updated name on her AOS forms and received all further immigration benefits in the updated name without issue.
  5. California allows middle and last name changes upon marriage. The OP isn't invening a middle but simply doing what the California state law allows.
  6. As long as you don't have an airport change. A lot of itineraries have a Narita/Haneda change which you want to avoid.
  7. Per the website: As soon as you receive your appointment date, you must schedule a medical examination in Vietnam.... All applicants who have not completed their medical examination and brought their information sheet from the panel physician will also be turned away.
  8. There are not many factors that go into the determination of a spousal visa type. There is ONE factor and one factor only.
  9. Does your interview letter have the MNLxxxxxxxx number ? If not, what other document do you have that does?
  10. Unkown is the truth what is the worry? Having or not having an SSN isn't a cause for denial of a visa. Look it up
  11. You cannot look at CR1 and IR1 visas separately, the only difference is the age of the marriage at time of visa issuance.
  12. The IV and NIV are different units (ie departments) with different staffing levels and training. While common sense would be to cross train, we are dealing with a government beauracracy.
  13. I have been through both. Other than sometimes being a bit busy, they are fine.
  14. It sounds like the Consulate was right in reconsidering the initial decision because it appears there was no sense of urgency to pursue an I130 as it sounds like you have done nothing for the last 6 months.
  15. You should expect the same level of scrutiny. It is difficult to predict what the CBP officer will even ask about.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. I guarantee you, despite what another has said, an agency of our government absolutely sets the healthcare centers policy for conducting immigration medical exams for US visas.
  17. You can't file just an I129f for a K3. Without proof of the I130 filing it won't even make it past the lockbox and never receive an NOA1.
  18. You just edit your timeline to the correct service center that is processing your petition. BTW you are not applying via DCF so you might want to change that while you are at it.
